Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our Performance Engineering teamwhich scope of work is focused on firmware performance-based testing, assessment, and metrics on routers. Our ideal candidate has a Systems or Networking Engineering background with strong troubleshooting skills.

What will this person be responsible for on a day-to-day basis

This team tests features for customer experience on WiFi devices. At night, tests are run to develop test cases to work on during the day. During the day, they test WiFi devices for system stability (network performance/System performance and feature functionality)

They test network connectivity for a device as well as the quality of the firmware. They need to understand basic testing methodology and troubleshooting.

They will run test cases and report results. Youre in the space where youre testing and evaluating the results.

Example: If you have your laptop connected to a WIFI device- what are you testing Youre testing the Wi-Fi connection/ connection the internet/google servers and everything in between.

MUST HAVE skillsets: What are the key experiences, skillsets, technologies, domain knowledge, etc. that this person must have experience with (or you wouldnt want us to show their resume)

Need experience with Network Testing- understand how networking works and how TCP works- someone who has a curious mind who can get to where the problem is quickly.

Need someone with either experience with or understanding of iPerf and Wireshark
(iPerf is a network performance tool that is used to send various types of data in a configurable fashion across networks

Must understand Wifi- need to know what frequencies it runs on, what an SSID is. Must know how to test network devices and understand how to look at each segment of the problem

QA Analysis- Visio/ Grafana or another report collection/metric tool

The ability to understand testing methodology- does not need a specific background. Need somebody that can look at something and understand if I need to test this, what do I need to test JUST that.

Need someone with STRONG technical documentation skills- Someone who can document and understand what theyre looking at. Youre going to have results you have to document but you need to display and defend the results. Someone who can explain why it passes or fails Understand what the test is. Experience with Jira/Confluence/Visio

Nice to Have Skillsets: What are a few skills/ experiences that are not required but that would put a candidate above others if they have them

LINUX experience- just someone who has worked on a command line

Automation experience- someone who has familiarity with Ansible/HPNA
