The AWS Cloud Administrator will provide excellent customer service in resolving issues related to public cloud and hybrid cloud workloads supporting development teams and critical systems across state government. IOT is both the centralized infrastructure agency for state government as well as the hub of enterprise applications, cybersecurity, compliance, and shared services. The Cloud Administrator works collaboratively within IOT, with partner agencies, and with vendors to help implement, maintain, safeguard workloads leveraging the public cloud service provider Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role is important to helping IOT in its efforts to deliver secure, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure as well as shaping the future of how the operations of state government are facilitated. The Cloud Administrator is a knowledgeable and curious technician in the domain of cloud technologies with broad experience in technology infrastructure and applications that strives to provide stellar customer service and to stay aware and informed of their assigned cloud platforms. Provide Subject Matter Expertise to IOT and State Agencies in the following areas. 1 - Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture, capabilities, implementation requirements, and operational best practices of cloud platforms; 2 - Demonstrate knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements supported by the assigned cloud platforms; 3 - Demonstrate ability to collaborate between business units, architecture, operations, and security on the implementation and support of solutions that meet operational and compliance standards as well as meeting relevant regulatory requirements; 4 - Work with strategic vendors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with access, performance, and stability of cloud and hybrid workloads; 5 - Identify and document common tasks and efforts related to public cloud and hybrid cloud operations, striving to standardize processes for the team and to avoid duplication of efforts; 6 - Partner with IOT cloud architects and senior stakeholders to identify common issues reported by customers, opportunities for automation, and proccesses that could be improved; 7 - Track work and efforts in IOT's Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platform, often referred to as a helpdesk or ticketing system; 8 - Dedicate time and effort to attaining and improving relevant skills and industry certifications; 9 - Adhere to, facilitate, and promote IOT's architectural, cybersecurity, and change management efforts. 10 - Participate in an 'on-call' rotation for after hours, weekend, and holiday support. Additional Duties: 1 - Collaborate with the community of technologists and leaders across the enterprise to advance the digital transformation of government. 2 - Facilitate and champion a community of practice across state government for cloud solutions and platforms. 3 - Collaborate with IOT product owners to optimize current service offerings in relation to adoption requirements, budgetary allocation, new features, resources, processes, and technology impacts. 4 - Support the State Request for Proposal (RFP) process and other procurement needs, as appropriate. 5 - Mentor and coach junior staff in supporting cloud operations.
