Their architects dont code, but once you know code, then you know it. Their engineers do the coding. Also, understanding of SQL and data storage would be helpful for this role in particular. The hiring manager tends to lean towards architects that can help with the design and direction from an architecture point of view. Having the knowledge of the tech stack and the integrations is what will set candidates a part for him.
