Position: DevOps Engineer III Location: 100% onsite (1100 Louisiana, Houston Texas 77002) Contract: 6-12+ Months Contract Need 10+ years candidate. Passport Number Must for Submission This team will be doing a large migration and retiring the core technology, which is being moved to multiple areas and contains multiple pieces. *** What they are looking for*** A DevOps Engineer who started on the Software Development side rather than the Systems side to design and implement frameworks and tools to streamline the product development process. Writing Reusable Frameworks and building reusable tools that help development and able to think through problems to develop solutions using design patterns-based solutions. Having an OOP Background, C#, Java, Scala, or Python (Not Python Scripting or BASH) needs to build functions, not basic operations. Needs to have worked with Kubernetes using Helm, Argo, Cd, or Flux. Someone who can take UML and ask the right questions to clarify and get the process moving. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Work directly with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to understand the business objective and develop high quality, scalable, data & machine learning systems. Design and implement frameworks and tools to streamline product development process. Develop and maintain application environment automation tools. Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Design and implement source code management practices including branching strategies and code quality. Perform application deployments acting as a gatekeeper to the production environment. Work with platform management team and engineers to build out and support observability, monitoring, and governance solutions & utilization. Develop, Discuss & Follow software and solution design documentation. Must Have: Ansible Artifactory Azure DevOps Helm Kubernetes Python Terraform Nice to Have: Airflow S3 Qualifications: 5+ years of OOP-based software engineering experience python preferred. Hands-on experience developing solutions using design patterns-based solutions. 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitLab 5+ years of experience in testing, packaging, and deploying Python applications. 5+ years of experience in creating and managing Kubernetes deployments both manually and using Helm. 2+ years of experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform Expertise with package & deployment management tools such as pip, conda, maven, npm,v docker, and helm Expertise in several deployment strategies including Rolling, Blue-Green, Canary, and A/B Testing Experience in creating and managing fully remote development environments within Kubernetes across many clusters and environments.
