This team requires that the candidate work on the Hybrid model (2-days in-office, 3-days remote). This person will be joining the Reliability and Integrations Team. This team supports observability and developer productivity platforms. The Sr Splunk Systems Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting Splunk Enterprise, including managing Windows and Linux servers, automating via Ansible, and coordinating the migration of on-premises hardware to AWS. Job Details : Responsibilities: As a Senior Splunk Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Supporting the onboarding and maintenance of logs from Windows, Linux, and cloud-based sources into Splunk. Coordinating and conducting platform upgrades, including testing with platform users. Automating manual platform management processes through Ansible and other scripting tools/languages. Troubleshooting incidents impacting the Splunk platform to ensure uninterrupted service. Evaluating the use and integration of third-party add-ons to enhance platform functionality. Collaborating with platform users, facilitating effective communication, and understanding of their needs. Developing training materials and documentation to enhance user knowledge and self-sufficiency. Experience: The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical issues. Experience supporting technical users and conducting requirements analysis. The capacity to work independently with minimal guidance and oversight. Familiarity with IT Service Management, including Incident and Problem management. Proficiency in identifying performance bottlenecks and resolving root causes of service issues. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams and functions to influence software design, operations, and deployment. Knowledge of standard methodologies related to security, performance, and disaster recovery. Required Technical Expertise: Minimum 3 years of experience in managing and configuring Splunk Enterprise and/or Splunk Cloud. Experience with Splunk clustered deployment topology. Proficiency in administering Splunk agents on Linux and Windows systems. Experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions using AWS. Proven ability to onboard new data, configure, create dashboards, and extract information through Splunk. Skills in writing or modifying custom Splunk addons. Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as bash, python, or others. Familiarity with Splunk REST APIs. Preferred Technical Experience: Splunk Certification (Admin or Architect). Experience with Ansible Tower automations. Familiarity with Gitlab. Experience in large platform migration efforts. Knowledge of AWS OpenSearch.
