Hi All, I am looking for below candidates for my client. If you have candidates who meet the requirements we can do C2C for this position Title: Jr Cassandra DBA (required 5 to 8 yrs experience ) Client:American Express Location Remote(MST timings) MUST HAVE Skill sets 24x7 Support for Cassandra Databases -*Description:* Provide 24x7 support for production Cassandra databases and serve as the first point of contact for technical issues related to the databases. Configure alerts, thresholds, and monitoring for the databases. -Actively participate in and drive EMIM bridges/High Tier RCA calls, tracking ongoing issues and staying on top of them. - Perform database backup and recovery activities, identifying automation opportunities, resource savings, and process improvement avenues. -Identify recurring issues and ensure proper root cause analysis and problem management. *Typical Duties of a Cassandra DBA:* * Good understanding of DataStax or Cassandra * Monitoring node health, resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk), latency, and throughput using various monitoring tools and dashboards * Maintenance of DataStax NoSQL Database * Strong understanding of Replicas, replica Placement Strategies, Partitions, Snitches, Dynamic Ring Participation, and Security within Cassandra * Experience in database problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution * Identifying and optimizing performance bottlenecks in the Cassandra cluster, which may involve adjusting configuration parameters, optimizing queries, and ensuring balanced data distribution and replication * Automation and Scripting: DBAs often use automation tools and scripts to streamline routine tasks like backup, maintenance, and monitoring *Checklist:* 1. Check Talena in production environments and verify if the backups are taking place properly. If no completed backups are found within the last 2 hours of checking, further analysis is required as the backups might be in a hung state. 2. Check the system health under Talena services and ensure everything is fine. 3. Cassandra cron jobs monitoring 4. Daily Health Check of Cassandra App nodes through playlist script 5. OpsCenter app - Repair status OpsCenter cluster 6. OpsCenter app - Repair status App Cluster 7. Mail Alerts received 8. Any follow-ups/Incidents action items *Questions:* 1.
