Must have the Center for Disease Control or Health and Human Services exp. Job Description: This sub family is responsible for the analysis and evaluation of user business problems and the development of system recommendations to meet requirements. Analyzes current and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems. Duties include coordinating with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, execution of user acceptance, and may coordinate testing and system controls. Impact: Works on day-to-day objectives with limited impact beyond the scope of own work area/ project team. Works under supervision on less complex projects/ assignments. Complexity: Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies. Develops products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories, and concepts within own technical specialty. Communication: Communicates with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices related to area. Leadership & Talent Management: Knowledge: Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of narrow technical domain. Typical Education & Experience: Typically requires BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience. The Functional Analyst is expected to develop functional expertise in various aspects of the delivery lifecycle including: Participating in requirements sessions, creating general designs, performing assembly testing, and supporting development efforts for multiple functional areas within team Providing functional support to Developers and System Analysts Supporting the resolution of production issues and data cleanup efforts through functional analysis and testing Required Experience: BS degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience. 4 yrs of additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree Experience with software development and maintenance practices and methodologies (especially requirements, design, and testing phases) Knowledge of information systems and current computer technology. Working as a member of an Agile development team. Desired: Knowledge of information systems and current computer technology a plus. Familiarity with SQL, XML, and Oracle environment a plus. Familiarity with web and reporting technology also a plus Requires US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) and Ability to Obtain Public Trust clearance Preferred experience with CDC and local to the Atlanta area.
