Position: Tech Lead Contract Fully Remote Required Skills AWS Redshift Teradata Tech Lead experience Role summary: Drive overall delivery of technical tasks Serve as bridge between SWA architects and developers to ensure technical requirements are well understood and implemented as expected Represent the DWCP team in technical discussions (meetings) across SWA platform/product teams Responsibilities: Assist developers and/or take on assigned stories - answer technical/design questions and resolve technical issues as they arise Translate design from architects to lower-level technical requirements needed by developers Collaborate with Product Manager around feature scoping and priority to enable long-term technical roadmap Collaborate with Product Owner around user story creation to ensure appropriate technical requirements are captured Perform regular code and documentation reviews and ensure developers are meeting SWA standards Migration Project: 8+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a technical role 8+ years of development and/or DBA experience in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementation and performance tuning MPP databases (Teradata, Vertica, Netezza, Greenplum) Experience with prioritization of projects that mitigate trade-offs Experience in analyzing Data Warehouses such as Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, etc. or Greenplum etc. Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP databases, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting, Dashboard development and NoSQL storage. Leadership - Lead data architecture and data engineering teams to deliver project implementations successfully. Ability to evaluate and plan migrations to Amazon Redshift Extensive hands on experience in leading large-scale full-cycle MPP enterprise data warehousing (EDW) projects Extensive hands on experience in data warehousing design, tuning and ETL/ELT process development Excellent SQL and strong hands-on scripting (bash, perl or python) ability Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including NoSQL databases, Data Warehouse , BI reporting and Dashboard development. Customer facing skills to understand customer requirements and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-of, best practices, project management and risk mitigation. Nice to Have: One of the AWS Associate level certifications or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. Nice to have AWS Data Analytics Specialty Certification Experience with Apache Hadoop and Hadoop ecosystem relevant tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Oozie, Zookeeper) and interacting with Linux based systems. |
