Role: Business Analyst Payroll

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 Months contract

1. Job Summary

This senior level analyst position is recognized as having business expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems related to payroll systems and processes. Undertakes highly complex projects requiring additional specialized business knowledge and decision making that will influence others across the organization.

This role acts as a bridge between Tech and Payroll processing, payroll tax and garnishment teams. You need to be technical and knowledgeable of the payroll teams functions. Troubleshooting and testing will be a focus in this role.

1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

Works with management, and individual team leaders by contributing strategic vison and integrating a broad range of ideas regarding business solutions development.

Works with internal and external customers, suppliers and other partners to resolve problems, respond to suggestions for improvement and enhancements, test, refine and institutionalize solutions.

Contributes high level expertise in business processes and systems analysis while considering the business implications to the current and future business environment.

Continuously develops advanced knowledge of assigned application(s) utilizing vendor websites, user groups and training to effectively utilize system capabilities. Mentors other team members and is recognized as a subject matter expert.

Partners with the team to understand design decisions based on documented requirements, current configuration, and downstream impacts.

Performs validations related to migrations, releases, upgrades and/or patches mitigating risk/downstream impacts. Engages tech team members and/or vendors for support as necessary. Documents unit, integration, and acceptance testing.

Plans and monitors overall work flow to ensure timely completion of projects.

Evaluates current training methods and materials and recommend improvements. Reviews and creates training as needed.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.

May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

IV. Qualifications

1. The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

2. Education and Experience

Education: Bachelors Degree (accredited)

Experience: Eight (8) years of previous experience in payroll processing, payroll tax, or finance (in addition to education requirement).

3 years Oracle HCM Cloud experience

Knowledge of system testing concepts preferred.

Excellent Excel skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day;

Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely;

Normal setting for this job is: office setting.

Must be available to work standard business hours, as well as be available to work non-standard hours in case of emergency (natural disasters, power outages, etc.). May need to attend after hours calls with the offshore team.
