From: vivek paliwal, kpg99 [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Mention visa and location Role : Mainframe CICS Systems Programmer Location : Providence, RI (Remote) Duration : Long term Visa : No h1b Job Description: We need a SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER, not a mainframe developer IBM Mainframe Systems Programmer: Responsibilities: CICS and COBOL This systems programming position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the layered products on the IBM mainframe as well as providing assistance to the mainframe application programmers. Installation, upgrade, configuration, and troubleshooting/problem resolution of IDMS and transactional (CICS) systems, as well as application programming languages(COBOL, PL1, FOCUS). DB2 knowledge a plus Installation, upgrade, configuration, and troubleshooting/problem resolution of third party layered products including application debugging tools, output and data management software utilities, and interactive development environments Interaction with both internal and external resources that include the associated I.S. application teams, I.S. infrastructure teams, corporate Service Desk, business teams, and hardware/software vendors Provide support to the mainframe application developers/programmers in implementing systems and resolving issues Provide on-call support as needed Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent experience required 8+ years in Information Technology with 5+ years in an enterprise mainframe environment Sound knowledge of CICS running on z/OS including installation, upgrade configuration, backup/restore and recovery processes. Familiarity with the IBM mainframe operating system, z/OS In-depth knowledge of a wide variety of CA products including ROSCOE, INTERTEST for CICS, SPOOL, VIEW, DELIVER, DRAS, IDMS and LIBRARIAN. Also, knowledge of other 3 rd party products such as FILEAID, XPEDITER, VISION BUILDER, and FALCON. Demonstrated knowledge & experience with programming languages, specifically including COBOL.
