Role: Sr. Oracle DBA Location: Menands, New York Duration: 12 Months Client: NY State Client Job ID#: HBITS-05-13084 Description NYSDOH needs temporary contractual services to support the Early Intervention Program with the New York Early Intervention System (NYEIS) and other EI data systems. This application is used to address the Early Intervention Programs (EIPs) functions of child referral and intake, case management, developmental evaluations, service planning, service delivery, service providers claiming, service providers payment, 3rd party insurance claiming (commercial and Medicaid), state vouchering, provider application and approval, reporting, auditing, and compliance with Federal and State requirements. Duties Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an IBM AIX environment with RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate. Creating Oracle databases. Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures. Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases. Starting up and shutting down the database. Managing storage for the database. Managing users and security. Mandatory Requirements Experience (10+ Years) Uses specialized software to store and organize data, which may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security and troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery. Requirements This is an 100% Onsite 84 months of experience troubleshooting Oracle 10g or higher database performance and other related issues; specifically by working with other teams to identify if the issue is at the storage, network, database, or application tier. 84 months of experience working with developers to suggest modifications which could improve the performance of their SQL (e.g., avoiding cartesian products, suggesting indexes, etc). 84 months of experience using RMAN for backup and recovery of Oracle 10g or higher databases. Experience must include using RMAN for recovery. 84 months of experience upgrading Oracle Database software, version 10g or higher, in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, etc). Experience must include upgrading an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 7.5 10 84 months of experience patching Oracle Database software, version 10g or higher, in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, etc). Experience must include patching an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 7.5 10 84 months of experience installing Oracle Database software, version 10g or higher, in a Unix-like environment (AIX, Linux, etc) , for a RAC cluster with DataGuard. 48 months of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, version 13 or higher. 36 months of experience with Oracle 10g or higher with an application tier which uses IBM Cram architecture (direct experience with Cram itself not necessary). Oracle 10g or higher Certified Professional (OCP) certification. Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
