[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Description - Position: Network Firewall Engineer Location:OK (Hybrid) Visa: Any visa Need Local candidate Description: The Network Operations team is responsible for the operation and support of the company's global WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, Network Access Control (NAC), cloud and other networking solutions. Network Operations continues to advance connectivity efforts that align with the companys Cloud, Cyber Security, and NxtGenERP strategies. These strategies will help further modernize function and drive innovation by developing automated processes, utilizing data analytics, and championing standard methodologies. Network Operations collaborates with many global teams to ensure connectivity including Network Security, IT Security, Cloud Enablement, and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) teams. The Network Engineer role is part of the Network Engineering sub-team that develops architectural design and standards, implements and monitors network infrastructure, and delivers ongoing operational support of the company's global network. Responsibilities: Design and develop maintainable and highly available network architectures that meet business connectivity objectives and SLAs Provide technical consultation on IT projects and ensure network infrastructure is deployed to corporate standards Configure, deploy, and maintain Network products and technologies Carry out day-to-day operational and technical support for the the company's network Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues Maintain systems software including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations Manage firewall policy and conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance Ensure firewall security products (URL Filtering, Threat Prevention, SSL Decryption, DLP, VPN, etc.) are in alignment with current standards and processes Troubleshoot connectivity issues related to Network Security systems Partner with global members of the Network Services team to exchange knowledge, experience, and further the connectivity capability Utilize innovative analytics solutions to build insight into the company's global network Ensure compliance with information security policies, standards, and best practices Develop and maintain documentation and procedural standards relating to supported systems Coordinate with vendors for product upgrades and issue resolution as required Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast on new and emerging networking technologies Employ various scripting languages such as Python and Ansible to automate network operations functions Required: 3+ years of experience of network/firewall principles 3+ years of experience with scripting or programming paradigms Available to perform tasks outside normal business hours on a rotational callout basis Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related discipline 5+ years of experience in Networking, Network Security, or IT Security Working knowledge of Connectivity platforms: Cisco LAN, WAN devices and ACI Data Center technologies, Palo Alto Firewalls, or Aruba/HP Edge Connect SD-WAN devices 1+ years of experience with scripting languages and tools (Python, Ansible, and PowerShell) Advanced understanding of network security concepts including Zero Trust and Micro-Segmentation Advanced proficiency in networking principles, routing, network design, and common network protocols Basic proficiency working with REST APIs Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, PCNSE, or PCNSA An excellent teammate with the ability to get results quickly and efficiently, both internally and with outside vendors Ability to rapidly develop a conceptual understanding of environments that are new to them and provide insight into the analysis of related events Ability to resolve technical issues with clients and systematically resolve interrelated network and application issues Keywords: information technology hewlett packard South Dakota |
