Role: Java Architect Location: Menands, New York Duration: 30 Months Client: NY State Description On March 31, 2021, former Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the Marihuana Regulation & Taxation Act (MRTA). The legislation creates a new Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) governed by a Cannabis Control Board to oversee and implement the law (collectively referred to as the OCM). The OCM oversees the States Medical Cannabis Program, which ensures medical cannabis available for certified patients with serious conditions and is dispensed and administered in a manner that protects public health and safety. Duties Review program specifications and provide feedback as needed. Design solutions to business requirements. Review ITS Platform Services documentation and incorporate into system design. Consult with other IT staff to confirm feasibility and efficiency of the overall design. Provide estimates to management for any tasks related to a project or system change. Prepare functional specifications documentation for modules. Collaborate with other developers on the team, following code branch management strategy. Lead and participate in design reviews and code reviews. Resolve defects, and document in the defect tracking system the changes that were made. Mandatory Requirements Experience (11+ Years) Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system.
