Role : P6 Scheduler (Microsoft/primavera) Location : Batavia, OH Duration : 3+ Years POSITION SUMMARY: (duties may vary) The Project Scheduler (PS) III is an advanced/senior role with a full-time, on-site effort involving multiple projects and/or large and/or complex projects that may require coordination and management of supporting scheduling staff. The PS III will perform Earned Value Management, prepare Schedule Performance index (SPI) and coordinate with project cost specialists to issue Cost Performance Index (CPI), Change Control and critical path schedule forecasts with resource loading. The PS III will work closely with document controls and cost management (risk management, change control, forecasting, metrics and reporting included within). The Project Scheduler is a key member of the project team and reports directly to the Project Manager or Construction Manager with a matrix reporting relationship to the Project Controls Group, managerial oversight, training, administrative support and multi-project management. The primary function of the PS III is to develop and maintain the master Program schedule and constituent Project schedules related to contract scope or any other Nestle on-site program. Related tasks and deliverables: these functions include the mobilization, development, implementation, and support of all Program Management Control Systems (PMCS), procedures, training and project staffing. Likewise, the PS III is responsible and accountable for project control components such as time management, schedule reporting, master schedule maintenance, review and comment on 3rd Party schedules, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), cost and resource loading, and regularly performs schedule updates. Manages the detailed Gantt Schedule in either MS Project or Primavera, maintain 6 week (1 back/5 forward) rolling look-ahead schedule, 90-day look-ahead schedule, critical path analysis, schedule variance reports baseline vs schedule updates, prepares histograms of cost, schedule, resource, and percent complete S curves (cumulative and per period). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Allocation of Time: Tools and Systems Setup 10% The Scheduler will coordinate with the mobilization team manager while the PMCS and related project control tools is procured, setup and configured, in accordance to the client expectations and synchronized with client governance and policy, tools, systems and procedures. Allocation of Time: Earned Value Management Function 10% Develops and maintain earned value analysis . Assigns resources (cost, labor or material) to activities and develops cash flow reports and resource histograms. Allocation of Time: Project Scheduling Function 80% Supports senior scheduling staff, the project team and stakeholders with time management and control. Develops and updates summary level (Roll-ups) as well as detailed schedules. Develops lists of design, procurement, construction and post construction activities based on review of design documents, examination of site conditions and discussions with Owners, design consultants and contractors. Identifies major milestones, critical approvals and long lead procurement items. Determines reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussion with task owners and/or teams. Develops realistic activity durations based on production rates and available manpower based on discussion with task owners and/or teams. Drives MS Project based Gantt Schedules, Resources Loaded Schedules, 6 Week look ahead and milestones schedules. Assists in developing Liquidated Damage milestones and dates. Assigns resources (cost, labor or material) to activities and develops cash flow reports and resource histograms. Evaluates critical and near critical path activity sequences. Assesses actual progress based on site inspections. Identifies schedule changes and trends. Suggests corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur. Reviews engineer, architect and contractor prepared schedules Prepares post construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time if necessary Adherence to Construction Manager BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATION (Minimum): Experience in Microsoft Project is required Knowledge of Primavera P6 software as a 'hands-on' user required Experience in engineering and/or construction work process and activity sequence required Experience in using and understanding earned value progress preferred BS or BA is preferred EXPERIENCE (Years/Type) Minimum of five (5) years of related project experience preferred Experience in managing projects through all phases of construction Skills Must be highly articulate and have a clear and analytical approach to problem solving Ability to provide complex, confidential administrative support in a high-profile environment with tact and diplomacy Ability to work with multiple deadlines and multiple priorities Work across a variety of projects and with diverse constituencies Should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability POSITION SCOPE (list number and types of positions reporting to the position and area of impact, i.e. factories, division, group, company-wide, etc.) Duties include preparing, coordinating and reviewing process equipment and building drawing packages, managing internal, contract and other resources involved in the design, construction and engineering and supervising, assigning, scheduling, coordinating and evaluating contractor work. Consequences of unsatisfactory supplier performance can far exceed the transaction value of the position. Handle confidential specifications, drawings, and product/marketing information. Has authority to direct/delegate Project Team effort in order to execute deliverables. Communicate clearly and concisely with NPE, vendors, contractors, Field Staff, Project Staff, and the Factories.
