Network Engineer Annapolis, MD (Day one Onsite) Mandatory: CONUS with Certificate. Job Description : 1. The candidate shall meet the following minimum qualifications: a. Associate degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field. b. Eight (8) years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking. c. Possess active (i.e., not expired) certification as follows: (1) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or Security Certification. 2. The Client prefers resource(s) to have the following qualifications: a. Ten (10) years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking. b. Bachelors degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field c. Certifications issued within the last four (4) years as follows: (1) Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security Certification. (2) Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security (PCNSE) Certification. (3) Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) Certification from Palo Alto Networks. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & CAPABILITIES 1. Candidate shall have following preferred skills, experience and capabilities at the mid-expert level: a. Proficient with the following: (1) High Availability in Enterprise (2) Scalable routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF). (3) Advanced WAN service layers, SDWANs and WAN Optimization applications. (4) Current Network Security applications, services and appliances including Identity Management, Network Access Control, Application Layer Inspection, Content and Malware Filtering, Data Loss and Intrusion Prevention, zero-day threats, IPsec and SSL VPN, PKI, Two-Factor Authentication and other. (5) Network Management Protocols, Applications and Operating System capabilities. b. Experience with: (1) Layer 2&3 optimization and boundary, virtual switching systems. (2) Enterprise Data Center and cloud Networking for Virtualization, SDN, Load Balancing, storage. (3) Zero Trust Network Access and micro-segmentation. (4) Enterprise VoIP and physical security environments - access control and video surveillance network applications. (5) Quality-of-Service design and implementation. (6) Installation and configuration of Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Palo Alto platforms. (7) Installation, configuration, securing and troubleshooting enterprise wireless access systems. c. Knowledge of the following: (1) Infrastructure Services and experience with IPAM products. (2) IP multicast, Enterprise Video conferencing, streaming and on demand components. (3) Coding languages for scripting. d. Familiarity with major server and desktop operating systems and utilities are required. e. Sharp troubleshooting, organizational and mentoring skills and ability work independent. f. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills. F. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE 1. All work shall be performed at the following location(s) with the following percentage(s) of work: a. 40% remote work at a suitable off-site location. (1) The client reserves the right to determine an off-site location is not suitable (e.g., crowded public space with distracting background noise during meetings). b. 60% on-site work. 2.
