Principal Architect Finance/Premium Billing

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing in the establishment of an IT Application Architecture practice for Core Administrative Platform Finance/Premium Billing, and the adoption of standardization and repeatable processes for Premium Billing, Financial Processing and Transformation of data to Corporate general ledger accounting categories.

Works closely with the Chief Strategist to develop repeatable processes for configuration for new business.

Analyze and recommend configuration standards and changes for optimization of financial and payment processing efficiencies for existing health plans.

Leads activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation for the applicable business area.

Reviews business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.

Intimate knowledge of 835 and 820 HIPAA transactions.

Communicates the application architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures.

Champions a structured approach to business application solutions.

Supports the development of the application solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios.

Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.

Influences changes to standards and application configuration when necessary.

Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.

Ability to develop technical specifications for solutions and work with developer for just-in-time delivery.

Develops and executes solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work.

 Principal Architect Qualifications / Skills:

Ability to work under indirect supervision

Broad understanding of information technology topics

Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability

Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills

Ability to assess custom processes for optimization and redesign

Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities

Ability to communicate effectively with developers and deliver in a modified-agile methodology

Technically creative and open-minded

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Minimum of 10 12 years of experience related to IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture role

Minimum of 5 years of experience with QNXT or QNXT based application

Minimum of 3 years of experience with eligibility import and EDI mapping

Managed Care Organization, Medicare and Medicaid, Commercial Health Plan operational knowledge and experience

Demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of technical programs

Proficiency with information technologies in a secure network environment

SQL proficiency required

Ability to read custom SQL stored procedures

Ability to write SQL queries for data validations and design confirmation

Expertise with personal computers in a secure network environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint) or similar software
