Below is a detailed job description with roles and responsibilities: Position Overview: The Senior SAP MM/WM Consultant is responsible for managing and optimizing the SAP Materials Management and Warehouse Management modules to ensure efficient procurement, inventory management, and warehouse operations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of SAP systems and the ability to provide strategic guidance to improve supply chain processes, SME of Operations including Manufacturing processes, Work in Process (WIP), Bill of Materials (BOM), Routings, Product Master Data, MRP, Work centres, Inventory, Costing, Stock Controls, Forecasting and Purchasing. Key Roles and Responsibilities: System Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain SAP MM/WM systems to meet business requirements, including defining master data, purchasing documents, and pricing procedures. Ensure that SAP system configurations align with industry best practices and support the company's objectives. Experience with configuring SAP MM Purchasing using Purchase Orders, Scheduling Agreements Ability to configure master data in SAP MM viz. Material Master, Vendor Master, Info records, Pricing Condition Records etc. Business Process Optimization: Analyse existing procurement, inventory, and warehouse management processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and automate processes using SAP solutions. Understanding of end to end Direct and Indirect Procurement along with inventory management processes in manufacturing industry. Master Data Management: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of material master data, vendor master data, and other relevant data elements. Implement data governance standards to ensure data consistency and integrity. Perform data cleansing and enrichment activities to ensure data accuracy and completeness. This may involve data validation and correction. Configure and customize the SAP MM/WM modules to support master data management requirements. Define data validation rules and workflows for data approval and updates. Collaborate with other SAP consultants and business teams to align master data with various SAP modules, such as procurement, inventory management, and warehouse management Participate in SAP implementation projects, upgrades, and system enhancements to ensure master data requirements are met. Procurement and Sourcing: Manage the procurement lifecycle, including source determination, purchase order processing, and supplier evaluation. Work on strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with procurement policies. Set up procurement-specific settings, such as document types, release strategies, and approval workflows. Create and maintain vendor master data in SAP, including details like vendor contact information, payment terms, and evaluation criteria. Implement vendor segmentation and classification strategies. Integrate SAP SRM solutions for advanced supplier collaboration, performance management, and procurement sourcing. Set up key performance indicators (KPIs) and scorecards to measure supplier performance. Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels to reduce carrying costs and minimize stock-outs while ensuring goods availability. Implement ABC analysis, cycle counting, and physical inventory procedures. Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures. Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages. Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers. Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory. Warehouse Management: Design and configure warehouse processes and layout to improve operational efficiency. Oversee warehouse management functionalities, including inbound, outbound, and inventory movements. Design SAP WM solutions that enhance warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and order fulfilment. System Implementation Lead or assist in the implementation of SAP WM solutions, including customization, configuration, and integration with other SAP modules. Analyse and understand the client's warehouse and inventory management processes to recommend SAP WM solutions that align with their specific needs. Configure SAP WM system settings, master data, and custom developments to meet the client's requirements. Identify and troubleshoot SAP WM-related issues, providing effective solutions and support. Integration and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure seamless integration of SAP MM/WM with other SAP modules (e.g., SD, PP) and third-party systems. Collaborate with finance, production, and logistics teams to facilitate data flow and business processes. Strong Implementation experience in Configuration, developing functional specs Independently handle Integration of other modules such as FI, CO, EDI etc. Training and Documentation: Provide training and support to end-users and junior team members on SAP MM/WM functionalities and best practices. Maintain documentation on system configurations, process flows, and user guides. Writing Functional Specifications documents, test plans/procedures and documenting test results Support verification of test environment readiness & perform tests to validate integrity of development Plan, design, create, execute and document development to assure software and technical environments meet functional and system performance specifications Issue Resolution and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Provide ongoing support to address user queries and concerns. Participate in regular status meetings Work flexibility in work hours as needed Contribute towards creation & maintenance of Lesson learnt, best practices & FAQs Qualifications and Skills: 1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Information Systems). 2. 8-10 years of experience in SAP MM/WM configuration, implementation, and support. 3. Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes. 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 5. SAP certification in MM/WM is preferred.
