Title : Network Engineer Tier 2. Duration: 12+ months Location: 100% Remote CST or EST Hours ONLY! Visa : USC/GC Holder only Rate : $35/hr on c2c/1099 Job Description Candidate will be maintaining Network and Security technologies and the systems they run on to support MSSP environment. Government Account - Must be able to pass a CJIS background check Responsibilities Deploying and updating configurations on security and network equipment to standards. Familiar with 2 or more of the following device configurations firewalls: Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto Routers: Cisco including circuit and WAN management Switches: Cisco Network Management tools: Netreo, Zabbix IAM: Okta EDR: Crowdstrike, Sentinel One 5G equipment: Nokia, Cisco IoT equipment Help troubleshoot and maintain network and security tools. Maintain complete detail of issues in ticketing system. Handle call from customer. Apply vulnerability corrections to MSSP devices as directed. Work tickets escalated from Tier One service desk personnel and escalate to Tier Three as needed. Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across a wide variety of all source data sets (indications and warnings). Meet SLA/SLO requirements for response, restore, and notification time. Perform patch management for MSSP Security tools and customer's security tools. Ability to work with and provide security policies to design and implement network and security rules and configurations across various security platforms. Mentor and train Tier other Service Desk personnel as needed. Be able to work shift work to include 2nd and 3rd shifts. Preferred Experience and Attributes Working knowledge of troubleshoot Firewall, EDR connectivity, Routers, WAN technologies, Switches, 5G equipment, IoT equipment. Working knowledge of ITIL Working experience with Enterprise level ticketing system such as SNOW or Remedy Understanding of Syslog and SNMP monitoring Network and Security related certifications (CCNA, Security + and Network +) or equivalent knowledge. Familiarity with SIEM/Security Suite knowledge desirable. Knowledge of Crowdstrike or Sentinel One desirable. Knowledge of Virtualized or Cloud Computing desirable. Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory Domains Working Knowledge of various Linux OS Ability to interpret the information collected by network tools (e.g. Nslookup, Ping, and Traceroute). Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of host/network access control mechanisms (e.g., access control list, capabilities lists). Knowledge of vulnerability information dissemination sources (e.g., alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins). Knowledge of network traffic analysis methods. Signature implementation impact for viruses, malware, and attacks. Knowledge of packet-level analysis using appropriate tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump). Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration, Domain Name System (DNS), and directory services. Understanding of Cloud technologies and knowledge of 5G equipment and ITIL process and procedures. Requirements Government Account - Must be able to pass a CJIS background check 5-7 Years experience in Information Technology industry. Must be able to pass background check(s).
