GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: As a SAP Functional Consultant, the role will play a pivotal part in implementing, configuring, and optimizing SAP S4 and Fiori applications. The role will collaborate closely with our users to ensure their business processes are streamlined and optimized within the SAP ecosystem. In addition to your responsibilities with General Ledger and Accounts Payable modules, experience with Financial Product Subledger (FPSL) is considered a significant advantage. The SAP functional consultant reports to the SAP Technical Leader and will play a key role in implementing and supporting the overall SAP landscape. In this role, you will provide innovative strategic functional direction and leadership to the SAP project and support teams. This position will also be expected to support and provide input to other SAP functional areas as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement, configure, and optimize SAP S4 and Fiori solutions to meet users business requirements. Work closely with users to gather and understand their business processes and translate them into SAP solutions. Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices in General Ledger and Accounts Payable modules. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy SAP applications. Troubleshoot and resolve SAP-related issues and provide ongoing support to users. Stay up to date with the latest SAP developments, trends, and technologies. Assist in the evaluation and implementation of FPSL, if applicable, to enhance financial subledger processes. Experience leading and mentoring others; both on and offshore. Proven ability and desire to communicate the value of technology and change to Finance business stakeholders. Strong ability to analyze problems logically and objectively, apply sound judgment in assessing possible solutions, meet tight deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities. Ability to get hands on and login to SAP directly and troubleshoot issues if needed. Experience managing hosted SAP systems and partnering with the hosting partner to ensure SAP project goals are met. Ensures adherence to quality standards and SAP best practices. Develops and maintains excellent working relationship with internal and external stakeholders and stays engaged with the desired business delivery roadmaps to maintain alignment with the technology strategy. Performs other related work as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as an SAP Functional Consultant with a focus on SAP S4 and Fiori. Expertise in General Ledger and Accounts Payable modules. Experience with FPSL is a significant plus. Experience with Blackline and SAP to Blackline integration a plus. Assist in the evaluation and implementation of FPSL, if applicable, to enhance financial subledger processes. A proven track record and hands-on experience implementing SAP. Extensive knowledge of overall SAP environments including SAP S/4 HANA and data mart solutions as well as Fiori, MDG, Data Services, in a hosted environment. Completed at least one full lifecycle SAP implementation. Experience in leading/supporting project delivery and systems support. Experience in delivering SAP projects, functional configuration, and/or basis experience. Experience working with an S4 HANA environment. Experience implementing and supporting various SAP products in Cloud environments. 8+ years of broad and deep experience working with and managing SAP environments (including supporting development, architecture, and design) with progressive responsibility, preferably within the financial services industry; experience managing teams preferred. Bachelors degree is required. A masters degree is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS: None required for this position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong software development/programming expertise, including knowledge of emerging technical innovations and best practices. Broad knowledge of information technology functions and disciplines, including but not limited to, architecture, data management, operations, security and business analysis. Knowledge of the financial risks and best practices applicable to information systems supporting investments and financial systems. Broad understanding of Life and Annuity business models and products. Strong customer service orientation. Strong stakeholder management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and other outside third parties. Strong organizational and planning skills. Strong problem solving, risk assessment, and risk management skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
