Job Description Job Title: Linux Administrator Client :County of San Bernardino Rate: $58/hour Visa: Green Card, US Citizen, EAD Duration: 12+ months Location: Onsite (San Bernardino, CA) Local or near by only Education and Experience Minimum of 5 years experience in the last 7 years as a Linux Administrator in a lead role including system specification planning, performance tuning, storage management, back-up, recovery and Linux clustering. Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems. Strong Linux Administration experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge in writing and maintaining bash shell scripts. Strong Analytical and troubleshooting skills. Strong Technical communication skills. String documentation skills. Work well in a collaborative team environment. Be able to work on multiple projects and assignments at the same time in an organized manner. WHAT YOULL DO: Job Responsibilities: Install, implement, test and maintain Linux Servers (RHEL). Installs, configures and patches for Linux Servers. Bash Programming. Basic Linux Administration of File Systems. Linux User Management. Linux Security, Network and Firewall management. Linux Licensing. Linux Troubleshooting for User Administration and File Permissions. Provide coverage for other Linux administrators as necessary. Disaster Recovery preparedness for Linux Servers by maintaining and tuning backup and recovery processes. Identify and troubleshoot performance issues. Ensure information security. Provide end-user support to technical and non-technical audiences.
