Position: Product Owner Location: Richmond, VA Duration: Long Term Contract Visa : USC/GC only Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Product Owner to join our team. As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in guiding the development of our products and ensuring they meet the needs and expectations of our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and drive the product development process. Responsibilities: Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the product vision, goals, and overall strategy. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand market trends, customer needs, and business objectives. Requirement Gathering and Prioritization: Elicit and document clear and detailed product requirements. Prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on business value, customer feedback, and market demands. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, design, and quality assurance teams to ensure the successful delivery of features and improvements. Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related inquiries and decisions. Product Backlog Management: Create and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the most up-to-date priorities and requirements. Break down high-level features into smaller, manageable user stories and tasks. Sprint Planning and Review: Participate in sprint planning sessions to define sprint goals and deliverables. Review and accept/reject completed user stories during sprint reviews. Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and insights. Advocate for the customer and represent their interests in product development. Product Documentation: Create and maintain product documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and product roadmaps. Ensure that the product documentation is accessible and up-to-date for the team. Release Management: Coordinate with the development team to plan and execute product releases. Ensure a smooth and successful release process with minimal disruptions to end-users. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role. Strong understanding of agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions. Experience with product management tools and platforms (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Familiarity with design thinking and user experience principles is advantageous.
