Experience Administering one or more RDBMS such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL on cloud infrastructure.

Provisioning Infrastructure in the AWS Cloud specifically with Terraform.

Strong Experience in designing and managing public/private cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS) which include RDS, EC2, EBS, S3, EFS, VPC, Cloud watch and IAM   roles...etc.

Proactively monitor resources and applications using AWS Cloud watch including creating alarms to monitor metrics such as RDS, EC2, ELB, S3, SNS, and configure notifications for the alarms generated based on events defined.

Through understanding of Cloud Computing as firewalls, load balancers, hypervisor, monitoring, security..etc...

Analyze and develop and execute a plan to migrate eligible applications from on-premises to the cloud.

Create business continuity /disaster recovery, fail-over, and run-book documentation.

Review and guide application/database designs that meet or exceed current business requirements.

Ensure security is integrated into AWS cloud architecture solutions.

Strong Knowledge of AWS Services including Lambda, EFS, Redshift, Route 53, CloudTrail, EMR, Data Pipeline, API Gateway, and light sail

Responsible for creating Auto-scaling either scale-out or shrink-back instances depending on traffic and demand.

Maintain the database security for SQL Server.

Implement SQL Server database backup and recovery process in the AWS Cloud environment.

Responsible for creating VPCs for shared services and production accounts for database and application servers in public, and private subnets and NAT gateways.

Monitored system/database performance for potential bottlenecks, identified possible solutions, and worked with other team members to implement those fixes.

Vendor Management, Patching, Provisioning and de-provisioning, Backup & Recovery mgmt.

Agent Maintenance and upgrade, Problem management, Change management, Vulnerability and Risk management.

Performance tuning & troubleshooting, Refresh/restore DB.

The SQL Server DBA 
will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical DB servers, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of the applications. He/she will be responsible as the single point of contact to the client for the SQL Server. He/she will be responsible for onshore/offshore coordination. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  12 years of experience in onshore/offshore coordination, database administration, operations, and production support.

  Experience in database and application performance tuning.

  Experience with SQL and PL/SQL.

  Experience in 24x7 support for critical production systems.

  Experience in Monitoring, Back up/ Recovery Management, DB Provisioning/de-provisioning, DB refresh/restore, HA/DRE, Patching, migration, replication, and upgrades.

  Experience in Always On.

  Understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.

  Experience in tools such as Service Now, JIRA, Confluence.

  Ability to document solutions and train operational teams.

  
Experience with AWS, or Azure.

  Experience with automation, Ansible, Python, Terraform is a plus.

  
Experience in Sybase, Oracle, OEM, Postgres, Cloudera, Hadoop is a plus.

Desirable Skills:

  Excellent written and verbal communication.

  Flexible, team player, get-it-done personality.

  Ability to organize and plan work independently.

  Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

  Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.

  Experience in a financial domain is a major plus.

Certifications in this area are a plus
