The Network Operations Manager (NOM) is responsible for managing the operations of our Networks, Firewalls, Datacenters, and Monitoring & Alerting systems, while identifying opportunities to gain efficiencies, cost savings and better business outcomes. The NOM is responsible for the on-going and continuous improvement of our network infrastructure across all affiliates and locations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage the Network Operations team including the selection, mentoring, training, feedback and performance evaluations, assigning and monitoring work quantity and quality, manage schedules for appropriate coverage of a 24 X7 operation. Focus on exemplary customer service to internal and external constituents. Create a culture of ownership and accountability across the Network Operations Team. Lead all Architecture and engineering initiatives pertaining to Firewalls, Routers, and Switches. Maintain monthly security compliance and administrative functions and reporting of key systems. Maintenance and management of key network resources, including planning and executing standard maintenance plans for OS, Firmware, and security updates for firewalls, switches, routers, and management systems. Coordination of third-party access to properly implement and maintain enterprise network solutions. Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and YTD reports and stats to report on progress, trends and develop business solutions. Meet regularly with management and production staff to identify issues and concerns. Identify opportunities and present possible solutions for improved efficiencies with a comprehensive plan and pricing. Create and communicate key performance indicators and identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement. Create detailed documentation indicating network standards, necessities, operations, and protocols. Manage and support implementations, projects and on-going business and operational processes related to network infrastructure and monitoring/alerting. Manage the implementation and on-going administration and maintenance of our Enterprise Monitoring & Alerting systems. Define and manage best practices, and create accountability mechanisms to validate that they are being met (trend metrics, post-mortem discussions, documentation validation) Develop and maintain standards, processes, and procedures to ensure the availability, integrity, and security of the networks. Implement and monitor hardware and software tools to ensure optimal network performance and function. Interface with vendor technical support to resolve issues with network and telephony equipment. Evaluate new technologies associated with area of responsibility. Design, maintain and support network infrastructure across all campuses. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data network equipment, such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, and gateways. Design, maintain and troubleshoot campus cable plants for the data and telephony networks. These cable plants include inter and intra-building fiber/copper, equipment rooms, and cable management systems. Perform diagnostic analysis of the network system, identify possible faulty devices, troubleshoot faulty modules, troubleshoot network problems and outages, and prepare necessary RCA documentation. Establish a culture of operational excellence with regards to Change Management, Project Management, Maintenance Plans, Security Controls, cable management, and IDF/MDF hygiene standards. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Network Operations Staff and functions 3rd party vendors and staff as needed. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Results-driven. Detail-oriented. Accountable self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Minimum 8 to 9 years of experience in Network Operations/Network Engineering. Strong business and network analysis skills, test planning and testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience. Strong understanding of network design, implementation, routers, switches, protocols, and other key Enterprise Networking concepts. Previous Network Engineering team leadership experience required. Experience working in a medium to large complex Enterprise Network environment. Previous experience with Cisco (Routers, Switches, and Firewalls), HP Aruba, and Extreme Networks (wireless) Previous experience with SolarWinds Orion Effectively manage multiple priorities. Strong and demonstratable decision-making skills. Demonstrated performance in preceding career path. Bachelors degree or relevant experience with strong computer skills. Thanks & Regards ..
