As a Terraform Engineer specializing in database services, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining database infrastructure on cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our database systems. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement infrastructure as code solutions for provisioning and managing database services in public cloud environments using Terraform. Collaborate with the database administrators and software development teams to understand database requirements and optimize database configurations. Automate database backups, replication, and scaling processes to ensure high availability and reliability. Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to enhance database efficiency. Implement security best practices for database access control and encryption, ensuring data protection and compliance with industry standards. Work closely with DevOps and Cloud Operations teams to integrate database infrastructure into the CI/CD pipeline. Stay up-to-date with cloud provider database services, new features, and best practices, and implement them to improve database performance and scalability. Collaborate with the security team to ensure the database infrastructure complies with security standards and policies. Participate in on-call rotations for database-related incident response and resolution. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Terraform Engineer, specializing in public cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL). Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems. Proficiency in writing Terraform scripts and infrastructure as code templates. Experience with automation and scripting using tools such as Ansible, Python, or Bash. Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Database administration skills, including performance tuning, backups, and disaster recovery. Knowledge of security best practices in database management and cloud environments. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Relevant certifications related to cloud databases (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.
