Role: TWCS Architecture Lead Context LOACTION: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid mode of working 3 days a week from office) The TWCS Architecture Lead is a newly created role. It focuses on ensuring architectural cohesion and integrated delivery of capabilities and services to clients across the TWCS (Trade & Working Capital Solutions). TWCS Architecture Lead will report into the head of technology for TWCS. This role will provide overall architecture governance for TWCS technology, including all aspects of architecture (business/functional, technical, and infrastructure), with a particular focus on functional architecture. The goal of this role is to improve reuse, drive simplification and maintainability, and reduce duplication of effort across TWCS technology, and align the TWCS roadmap with other areas of the bank. The function will: 1. Perform overall architecture governance for TWCS, including aligning to firmwide standards and setting trade-specific standards as needed. 2. Identify functional boundaries between components and align to the overall functional taxonomy. 3. Take complex high-level demands and break-down by component in order to drive proper solutioning. 4. Work with domain teams to further break-down their capabilities by functional taxonomy. 5. Resolve discrepancies/disputes between domain teams pertaining to architecture and approach. 6. Develop and maintain the overall end-to-end functional architecture to support the TWCS business. About TTS O&T Will include standard paragraph on TTS and O&T Key Responsibilities: The role will include, but not limited to the following: Work across the TWCS to define and enforce a functional breakdown that reduces complexity, promotes reuse, and simplifies maintenance Establish consistent architectural governance to validate that strategic investments are being made that will move the technology portfolio towards the agreed target state, as well as to ensure consistency with bank standards and industry best practice Define, organize, standardize, and document the capabilities and solutions delivered to clients, including the relations and interactions between the elements of the architecture including processes, functionality, applications, events, data, and technologies Analyzes areas of common capabilities to form an integrated landscape of shared resources and services Foster a culture of innovation and engineering excellence across the Enterprise: modern engineering practices, adoption of open source and open standards, creating a culture of collaboration and efficiency Develop robust business architecture practices and processes that ensure the Engineering and Architecture practice are helping the business determine disruptive strategies to improve. Demonstrate technology and business thought-leadership, foster productive business relationships, and build strong sponsorship of our technology architecture and roadmap. Understand and influence business strategy, ensuring its informed by current and emerging technology capability and supported by our architecture and roadmap. Develop market insight, perform competitive assessments, understand, and inform business and technology strategy, document the reference architecture, and maintain a roadmap of capability that align with Business drivers and investments. Help drive TWCS transformation and product innovations: helping to build the bank of the future and strengthening our capabilities and competitiveness. Develop and document reference architectures, position papers, and educational materials across the full TTS ecosystem (across Products) This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Qualifications & Required Experience: 10+ years in senior architecture leadership roles within financial services or a related industry; specific experience in strategy development, enterprise and/or solution architecture and systems integration in a complex distributed environment employing a mix of modern and legacy technologies Comprehensive functional and technical knowledge within Transaction Banking domain developed through practical experience in defining and delivering solutions and capabilities. Trade and Working Capital experience preferred, but not required. Experience with design and development of system architecture; systems hardware and software design and development; system integration and test; information assurance Knowledge of Agile development, Cloud technology, APIs and microservices Experience in working with architects across all architectural domains Ability to influence various stakeholder groups including the business, operations, and other technology teams Experience in supporting transformation projects and organizational change initiatives Strong strategic, analytical and communication skills evidenced by experience in formulating strategic scenarios, evaluating trade-offs within a robust commercial framework, and designing practical execution plans Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to engage and influence technology and business stakeholders at most levels within an organization on complex technical and commercial concepts The role will require an individual with multidisciplinary experience, expertise and aptitude.
