Role: Oracle Database Admin (AWS) Location: New York City, NY(Onsite) (Need locals) Duration:Long Term Contract Rate: $50/hr on C2C Job Description: Responsibilities: Excellent knowledge and working experience in Oracle Databases in AWS RDS and EC2 Good Experience in Database upgrades, patching, refresh and trouble shooting RDS Database patching and other maintenance activities with strategy to reduce downtime Working experience in patching Multi-AZ enabled RDS production databases Should have experience in upscaling the server, storage and able to manage IOPS Must have experience in managing users, roles and security Should be able to manage schema objects such as tables, indexes, views and table partitions Must have extensive knowledge in performing table level partitions and re-org Must have knowledge in developing strategy to purge data using drop partitions Identify and defragmentation of highly fragmented tables (partitioned, sub-partitioned) Manage database backups and performing recovery when necessary Proficient in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Oracle Cluster ware & OEM Hands on experience migrating database from on premise to AWS cloud Proactively monitoring the database's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required Monitoring and tuning database performance related issues Good knowledge on Database encryption strategy and implementation Create the scripts (Oracle SQL) and Terraform/Chef/bash Scripts to monitor the database as needed Create lambda or other functions for enhanced patch release and other events wherever required Terraform/Ansible/Bash scripts/Lambda of the database monitoring Strategy Database conversion to UTF8 from USASCII Working knowledge with AWS Support Engineers to submit tickets when needed Proficiency in Unix scripting Must have AWS Cloud certification Able to communicate effectively with the customer Should be able to work independently Working knowledge with larger application and development teams Qualifications we seek in you! Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Preferred qualifications Very good written and presentation / verbal communication skills with experience of customer interfacing role.
