Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database management systems (RDBMS). Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and database performance tuning. Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements. Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning tools. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, or equivalent are a plus. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration: Perform day-to-day database administration tasks, including but not limited to database monitoring, maintenance, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting. Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient database operations. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Database Upgrades: Plan and execute database software upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability in case of system failures or disasters. Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring tools and set up alerts to proactively identify and address issues before they impact system performance. Capacity Planning: Analyze database growth trends and plan for capacity upgrades as needed to meet future data storage and processing demands. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, procedures, and operational processes. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to address database-related requirements and challenges.
