Job Description

Mongo and Cassandra DBA.

 Overall 3-5 years of experience working with information management systems in development, maintenance, administration, database management or related information systems skills.

Minimum 5 years' of MongoDB & Cassandra database management systems in testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment. MongoDB certified DBA from MongoDB University.

Expertise in database/data design and architectural principles and methodologies.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Knowledge of database architecture and its implementation

Good knowledge of Instance, database and query tuning to improve the performance of the database/application

Good understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) methodologies

Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner

Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel

Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Ability to prioritize and organize effectively

Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties

Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)

Ability to work independently

Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations

Ability to effectively consult with department managers and leaders

Customer service focused and portrays energy, professionalism and welcoming characteristics.

Responsible for supporting new and existing MongoDB & Cassandra database systems and will help guide best practices in database administration and introduce innovation with automation,

Responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining MongoDB & Cassandra database clusters that will enable and enhance software products and systems used every day by large groups of users.

The MongoDB & Cassandra DBA - Senior should have advanced knowledge of MongoDB & Cassandra databases including creation and implementation of fully functional database clusters, ability to maintain multiple development, QA and production environments with strong experience in performance tuning

Upgrades of MongoDB & Cassandra, database migrations and updates and application of database patches

Backup and restores, export and import of data to and from MongoDB & Cassandra, run time configuration of MongoDB & Cassandra

Monitoring at server, database, collection level, and using various monitoring tools related to MongoDB & Cassandra,

Maintains standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration

Creates/maintains backup and recovery strategies on database management systems

Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data

Installs, configures and maintains high availability server solutions

Troubleshoots alerts (alert log, jobs, disk group, etc.) and performance issues. Performs database performance tuning tasks

Implements multiple projects along with the production support

Will perform on-call support.
