Position : Linux / Unix System Engineer Location : Dallas, Texas / Maryland City, Maryland / Washington, DC ( Onsite ) - Local Candidates only Duration : 12 Months Rate : $55/HR on C2C Responsibilities: Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives. Deliver software features using high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process. Leverage tool stack to build, inspect, deploy, test and promote new or updated features. Collaborate with other teams to set up, configure and maintain a continuous integration environment. Work with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in new/revised applications or large/complex development projects. Support complex architecture and design sessions. Participate in code reviews with peers and managers to ensure that each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story and all standard resource libraries and architecture patterns as appropriate. Respond to trouble/support calls for applications in production in order to make quick repair to keep application in production. Create or update documentation in support of development efforts. Documents may include detailed specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams or design documents Mandatory Skills Description: 6+ years of System engineering and administration experience in a UNIX environment with substantial knowledge of the UNIX operating system for Solaris, SuSE, and RHEL platforms. Strong working knowledge for AWS EC2, AWS SSM , CloudFormation, CloudWatch etc. Must have strong programming/scripting languages such as Perl, Korn Shell, Bourne Shell, C, or any development tools. Having knowledge for AWS MGN and worked on migrating workloads using MGN is plus. Skills in automation using CloudFormation, SSM, Phyton , shell scripting, Infrastructure as code. Must have extensive knowledge of Unix / Linux operating system troubleshooting Must have knowledge of managing different kind of filesystems and storage management at Unix level. Must have good working knowledge of UNIX naming service, Kerberos, and SUDO. Must be able to work independently on multiple concurrent tasks in a highly dynamic environment with strong customer service skills, teaming skills and the ability to collaborate within a cross functional team.
