Role:Data Architect Location:Remote General Summary: Vertex is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join the Data and Knowledge Management team. You will be designing the data strategy and architecture for the commercial domain in a large biotechnology organization. The primary scope of this role will focus on commercialization of Cell and Gene Therapy solutions. Knowledge of biopharma commercial processes, patient identity, event, and consent data management, data integration, data engineering, analytics etc. is key to success in this role. In this role, you will typically design solutions using best of breed approaches using both modern commercial software and engineered solutions using AWS and other cloud platforms. In this role, you will be interacting with senior business leaders in the commercial domain to discover their needs and requirements from a data perspective. You will be responsible for translating those requirements into a comprehensive data strategy for the commercial domain which will encompass the following: 1. Business Capability Model: the set of enterprise business capabilities needed by the project, and identify any gaps 2. Application Landscape: high level view of application interaction and enabled capabilities 3. Data Flow: logical flow of data across applications including integration, message flows, virtualization, engineering, management, analytics, and AI/ML 4. Logical Solution Design: A comprehensive data architecture for the business domain Prior experience at a senior level in building out system landscape for commercialization of cell and gene therapies is highly beneficial. Our data products are aimed at addressing key strategic pain points of our internal customers in research and you will be working with them to take business requirements and translate them into architecture and execution plans. You will be good at this role if you enjoy working cross functionally with different teams to design, build, and maintain our data products. You will be measured by your ability to define clear solutions to complex business and technical challenges. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with business leaders in the commercial functions to discover their needs and create a comprehensive data strategy and roadmap to address them Create a comprehensive data strategy comprising of a business capability model, application landscape, data flow and solution design for commercial landscape Build a comprehensive system architecture for commercial data needs at Vertex and provide detailed guidance on best practices for implementation and adoption Utilize industry level knowledge of data and analytics in commercial domain to recommend off the shelf software products to meet business needs where applicable Understand Vertex software and systems and build a detailed roadmap to guide the organization from current state to a modern connected lab ecosystem Provide technical leadership in design and implementation of large scale, complex SaaS/PaaS systems, data management systems, business intelligence and AI/ML systems requiring high performance and availability Provide development teams with software architecture and work with fellow team members (Architects, other Tech Leads and Systems Engineers) to ensure development activities are aligned with scope, schedule, priorities, and business objectives Recommend modern data and analytics capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of cloud services at Vertex Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills across executive leadership, engineering teams, and customers and partners Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability of new software technologies relevant in biopharma commercial domain Qualifications: 10 or more years experience in pharma and biotech industries in the commercial domain at a senior strategy level 10 or more years' experience in building modern data strategies and architecture in the biotechnology domain Prior experience leading the design and build of data strategy and solutions for Cell and Gene therapy at a previous pharma org Significant experience in designing and building large scale solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Extensive experience with modern data landscape including but not limited to AWS, MuleSoft, Collibra, Snowflake, Airflow etc. Strong information management and modern data architecture skills Experience with iterative development life cycle methodologies and application of those principles, especially Agile development practices -- Thanks & Regards Boopathy Rajan.S Smart IT Frame - An E- Verify Employer 220 Davidson Avenue Suite #313 Somerset NJ 08873 Direct:8484554525 [email protected]|www.smartitframe.com LinkedIn ID:linkedin.com/in/boopathy-rajan-s-14aba2244 |
