Job Title: Project Manager 2 with Oil and Gas or Energy Domain Location: Austin, TX (100% remote within the state of Texas, some onsite meeting will be required) Duration: 11+ months (with a possibility of extension) The selected contractor(s) will be required to come in person to obtain equipment, badge and initial assignments. WORK DESCRIPTION: (This position will support IT System integration new Resiliency-as-a-Service (RaaS) program. As mandated by TX Legislation SB 398, Austin Energy is in the process of implementing a new program that supports the installation, dispatch, and interconnection with the ERCOT grid, of on-site commercial, and industrial back-up distributed energy resources (DERs). Support is needed to integrate this new service with existing AE IT software and systems, such as meter data management systems (MDMS), Generation Management Systems (GMS), Maximo project tracking systems, and ERCOT metering and reporting requirements. This contract employee will also assist with the development of the DER Roadmap and the RaaS Operating guide. The contractor hired for this position will work with other AE business units such as AE metering, AE IT, as well as generation vendors to establish how AE communicates DG resource and settlement status to ERCOT (real time and monthly settlements) and to ensure metering and communication equipment is set up correctly, which will include the coordination of site visits. This position will also coordinate dispatch communications with AEs Energy Market Operations and the DG vendor. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum (Required): insert specific minimum skills for this Contract Position) Years Skills/Experience 3-7 Years 3- 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative, independent judgment, and creativity in completing projects with a clear start and stop date. Minimum of three (3) years of progressive broad-based information systems, system integration and project delivery experience. Preferred (Optional): insert specific preferred skills for this Contract Position) Years Skills/Experience Familiarity working with AE network operations center (NOC) and generation management systems (GMS) in interconnecting resources behind the meter and in front of the meter with the ERCOT grid. Understands communication protocols for metering and telemetry such as Texas SET/Load Star Exports.
