Title:- Sr Project Manager GIS Seattle, WA Project Description project currently underway that involves migrating ~650 users from Esris legacy GIS desktop tool (ArcMap) to a combination of WebGIS (built on ArcGIS Enterprise) and Esris newest desktop tool, ArcGIS Pro. This project involves: Evaluating, testing, and implementing ArcGIS Pro in a virtualized cloud environment. Upgrading and expanding WebGIS environment built on ArcGIS Enterprise to accommodate additional users and use cases. Organizational change management including impact analysis and training. Migrating relevant ArcMap-based content to ArcGIS Pro (map documents, scripts, models, etc). A separate but closely related project FMS Next-Gen is in the initial planning stages with formal kickoff planned for early September. Forest Management System (FMS) is an implementation of Trimbles Land Resource Manager software used by ~550 users to manage data defining US Timberlands ownership. The FMS Next-Gen project involves: Upgrading from Trimbles Land Resource Manager with Esris ArcMap as the spatial engine, to Land Resource Manager with Esris ArcGIS Pro as the spatial engine. Redesign and development of custom capabilities, tools, and extensions to the core Trimble product. Organizational change management, user acceptance testing, and regional training/go-live planning and execution. Project Manager Responsibilities Lead delivery of information technology solutions and realize intended business benefits by effectively managing project planning and delivery through standard project management methodologies. Effectively plan, manage, and control project scope, schedule, budget, resources, issues, and risks. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, solve problems, and drives decisions. Maintain strong project governance and oversight structure, including clear project roles and responsibilities, decision making processes & escalation path. Manage workstreams and tasks involving large cross functional teams, including IT product, IT infrastructure, and business teams. May involve leading multiple IT projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery of expected results. Effectively communicate and collaborate with all vendors to ensure successful outcomes . Develop and maintain project plans and budgets, and track and report on status and budget. Collaborate with, and guide, the project team in the development of business cases, financial analysis, and project charters. Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture, IT Security & Controls, Infrastructure, Procurement, and other IT teams on project delivery and capacity planning. Help create and execute comprehensive change management strategies and communication plans relative to project scope and stakeholders. May require occasional travel. Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience is required. Experience: Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of progressive, relevant information technology experience. Proficient at leading medium to large-sized moderately complex enterprise IT projects, especially GIS/geospatial IT projects. Advanced ability to develop business cases (including outcomes and KPIs), understand project interdependencies, manage project resources and costs, communicate to stakeholders, and leverage the PACE process to achieve the project's objectives. Proficient in estimating project resources, identifying and mitigating risks, managing projects and business teams through change, and driving decisions. Proficient at conflict resolution, time management, process and data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and risk management. Proven ability to operate and effectively communicate while under pressure, as well as the ability to manage a diverse workload and work under time constraints with minimal supervision. Strong oral and written communication skills, proficient in communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences. Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities concurrently. Must Have Team-first professional with excellent leadership, influencing and prioritization capabilities. Proven ability to effectively plan, monitor, and control complex IT projects, including scope management / change control, risk management, schedule, budget, quality, and cross-team interdependencies. Proven ability to establish and maintain strong project governance and oversight structure, including clear roles and responsibilities, decision making processes & escalation path. Demonstrated experience in proactively leading projects and holding project team members, external vendors, and stakeholders accountable to their commitments. Proven experience planning and leading large organization change management activities. Highly Valued Exposure to the ESRI ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and/or Pro), ArcGIS Enterprise/Online web tools, and ArcGIS Server enterprise geodatabases. Prior experience in an IT manager role leading a team or organization responsible for delivering IT applications, products, or services to the business.
