Role : Core Network DevOps Engineer Work Authorization No H1 Must have EXCELLENT communication skills this will be KEY Location: hybrid will work in Philadelphia, PA on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, work remote Monday and Friday. Responsible for operations: monitoring, defining thresholds, creating alerts and dashboards, and development: design, implementation, maintenance of the WiFi Core Network infrastructure: wireless aggregation routers, AAA/Radius servers, load balancers, switches, ports, firewalls, physical servers, VMs, and cloud instances. Actively involved in optimizing the Core Network for greater efficiency and reliability, monitoring network and application health, and ensuring security compliance. Ensure optimal Core Network integration with XWiFI APs (access points) that deliver open public WiFi and secure (EAP) public WiFI. Partners with key stakeholders: XWiFi Engineers from the Core Network, QA, Systems Engineering, and Systems Admin teams, Network/LB Team, Data Center on-site Engineers, Product Owners, Security, and vendors. Core Network Operations: Monitoring and Maintenance Monitor Core Network performance: identify problems and respond accordingly Build and enhance dashboards , thresholds, and alerts on key network elements and key performance indicators Core Network Design and Planning Support and optimize performance of current network infrastructure to maximize efficiency, capacity, reliability, and security Participate in design of new features and enhancements to existing network design and configuration with XWiFi Engineers Model Core Network capacity for failure scenarios to proactively predict routing and topology changes Core Network Implementation and Configuration Plan and implement Core Network upgrades and expansions Manage and maintain Core Network configurations for LAB and production environments: physical servers, cloud, and network components Coordinate the installation and configuration of network changes for LAB and production Unit test server/cloud, network, LB changes, and coordinate with XWiFi QA Define and socialize standard procedures for hardware and network installation, maintenance, and operations: create detailed MOPs Assist in asset inventory management Follow the change management process for ticket creation, change implementation, and post-deployment validation Participate in development of automation to streamline processes Core Network Documentation and Reporting Maintain detailed Core Network documentation for LAB and production Define and create regular reports on Core Network performance, availability, and capacity to inform decision-making and drive continuous process improvement Core Network Security Implement and maintain Core Network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware Configure firewalls and advise on the integration of intrusion detection: protect the XWiFi Core Network platform from DDoS Participate in periodic Core Network audits to ensure compliance with security standards: hardware, software, and network elements Collaboration and Communication On-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday;
