Company / Project Description / Business Driver Supporting the Database Engineering Team Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced MongoDB Administrator and AWS Cloud Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our MongoDB database, implementing upgrades, and ensuring the resiliency of our infrastructure through cloud development and automation on the AWS platform. Role on the Team: Key Responsibilities: MongoDB Administration: Manage and optimize MongoDB databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. Implement upgrades and patches for MongoDB to keep the system up-to-date with the latest features and security enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business needs related to MongoDB. Cloud Development and Automation: Utilize AWS services to develop and automate cloud-based solutions. Implement and maintain automation scripts to enhance efficiency and scalability. Leverage AWS Lambda for automation tasks and ensure seamless integration with MongoDB. Infrastructure Resiliency: Work towards enhancing the resiliency of our infrastructure on the cloud platform. Implement best practices for disaster recovery and high availability to ensure business continuity. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a strong background in AWS Lambda, using it effectively for automation purposes. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends related to MongoDB and AWS. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders, to understand and address MongoDB-related business drivers. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and management- some MongoDB required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud development and automation, with a focus on AWS. Proven experience with AWS Lambda for automation tasks. Ability to work onsite for at least 3 days a week (local candidates will be given preference). Nice to Have: Experience with Aurora database. Familiarity with other AWS services beyond Lambda.
