Job Role: Azure Cloud DBA Location: Ann Arbor, MI (Hybrid) Durations: 6 months+ We need a strong candidate for this role who has strong experience with Azure and SQL Server. Skills: Proven experience as a SQL DBA or similar role (5+ years) Expert knowledge of Azure SQL and related services, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Edge, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc. Proficient in SQL programming, query optimization, and database design Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Azure SQL Database Failover Groups, Azure SQL Database Geo-Replication, Azure SQL Database Hyperscale, etc. Experience with cloud-based database services, such as Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for MySQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc. Experience with database administration tools, such as Azure Data Studio, Azure Portal, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, etc. Experience with database testing tools, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Migration Service, Azure SQL Database Test Plans, etc. Experience with database monitoring tools, such as Azure Monitor, Azure SQL Database Intelligent Insights, Azure SQL Database Query Performance Insight, etc. Experience with database automation tools, such as Azure DevOps, Azure Resource Manager, Azure Automation, etc. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly Certification in Azure SQL or related technologies is a plus Responsibilities: Installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Azure SQL databases and related services Monitoring and tuning database performance, availability, and reliability using Azure tools and best practices Implementing and enforcing database security policies and procedures using Azure Active Directory, Azure Key Vault, Azure SQL Database Auditing, etc. Performing backup and recovery operations and ensuring data protection and disaster recovery using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, etc. Troubleshooting and resolving database issues and providing technical support Developing and implementing database standards, best practices, and documentation Collaborating with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to design and develop database solutions that meet business requirements and objectives Researching and evaluating new technologies and trends in the Azure cloud database field and recommending improvements and innovations.
