Sr. WebSphere Administrator, Client : USPS

Eagan, San Mateo, Raleigh, California, Minnesota, North Carolina

Mandatory skills : TCP/IP, firewalls, Microsoft Windows and UNIX/Linux server operating systems, App server design (HA, multi-jvm, and multi-cell),SSL Certificate, DMZs, and enclaves ,IBM WebSphere Virtual Enterprise, Portal, Commerce, Apache TomCat, Apache HTTP Server, and WildFly, Oracle/DB2

USPS ETS program team is looking for (1) one Senior WebSphere Administrator to augment the middleware team located in Eagan, MN.

Location(s): Eagan, Mn (highly preferred), Raleigh, NC, San Mateo, CA / On-site with the possibility of hybrid.

Successful candidate will need to travel to Eagan, MN for 1 week for on-boarding/training. Labor hours are billable, but not travel time & costs.

Senior WebSphere Administrator (LCAT: WebSphere AppSrvr Spec)

Scope: Client has an immediate need for a middleware Senior WebSphere Administrator. Middleware is an integral group, within the United States Postal Service (USPS). The Senior WebSphere Administrator position is a high-level role, supporting Middleware in a 24x7x365 support role.

Required to lead the development of standards and procedures, both operational and functional

May be sought to support different shifts to enable 24x7 support and will be required to carry a pager and be on call.

Plan and implement the Middleware AppServer environment for all stages of development as well as production.

Install, support, maintain and upgrade Middleware AppServer products and services.

Develop and maintain project plans in accordance with client standards.

Develop, document, and implement procedures that support, maintain, and enhance the Middleware AppServer environment.

Diagnose and resolve complex problems in the Middleware AppServer environments.

Develop growth plans to ensure that the hosting environment can support the projected growth rate.

Serve as the escalation point for issues not resolved by the other support staff.

Perform logical and physical AppServer design (HA, multi-jvm, and multi-cell).

Perform SSL Certificate management.

2 or more years recent experience (within the last five years) in supporting WebSphere AppServer or similar Java EE server product in a large, complex and widely distributed environment

10+ years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience.

Have a strong working knowledge and hands-on support experience with Microsoft Windows and UNIX/Linux server operating systems.

Perform logical and physical Appserver design (HA, multi-jvm, and multi-cell).

Experience with SSL Certificate management for Middleware products.

Experience with Middleware AppServer monitoring tools such as WebSphere AppServer Performance Viewer and 3rd party Appserver monitoring tools utilizing PMI.

Working knowledge of firewalls, DMZs, and enclaves.

Experience with IBM WebSphere Virtual Enterprise, Portal, Commerce

Strong working knowledge of Oracle Application Server.

Strong working knowledge of Apache TomCat, Apache HTTP Server, and WildFly.
