The Traffic Signal Technician will be responsible for constructing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing devices including, but not limited to traffic and pedestrian signals, signal cable on span wire or in conduit, signal cabinets, CCTV cameras, detection equipment, communication equipment, etc. The position will be required to work aerially in a bucket truck and in inclement weather. The employee is required to track their work in the Citys work order system. Traffic Signal Technician 1 Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, 2. Two years of related experience 3. Education may substitute for experience up to two years. Traffic Signal Technician 2 Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, 2. Four years of related experience 3. IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification (Level 1) 4. Education, IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification (Level 2) or TRF450 TxDOT Roadway Illuminations and Electrical Installations may substitute for experience up to two years. Traffic Signal Technician 3 Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, 2. Six years of related experience 3. IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification (Level 2) or TRF450 TxDOT Roadway Illuminations and Electrical Installations 4. Education may substitute for experience up to two years. Traffic Signal Technician 4 Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, 2. Six years of experience of related experience 3. IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification (Level 2) or TRF 453 TxDOT Electrical Requirements for Installing Traffic Signals 4. Education or IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification (Level 3) may substitute for experience up to two years.
