Title : Sawmill subject matter expert Location : Seattle ,WA (Hybrid) Duration: long term Contract Job description : Sawmill subject matter expert fully understand end to end production process, quality control, safety, and daily operation of a sawmill and the management of its employees. Understand step by step process of creating products like lumber, engineered wood, OSB & Panels from raw materials. Responsibilities: Detail understanding of operating mills to saw logs into rough-sawn and dimensional lumber, installing and maintaining all mill/planer machinery and equipment. Can identify and recommend improvements in maintenance processes. Ability to work closely with maintenance and production teams to maximize throughput of a sawmill. Know how to train machine operators and employees of the sawmill, performing preventative maintenance on the mill including repair planning, Understand quality process related to lumber product output, stacking and palletizing materials and grading lumber. Fully understand safety procedures and regulations related to operating a sawmill. Understanding of cost/budget structure of a mill.
