Please go through the JD and send resumes to [email protected] Need USC Only ( US Born Citizens) Title: Platform Scrum Master Type of Hire: Contract Duration: 6+ Months Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid) Job Responsibilities The Platform Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for the Platform and its associated Product Teams and works closely with the Platform Product Owner and Platform Tech Partner as a part of the platform triad. The Platform Scrum Masters key responsibilities are to facilitate the quarterly Platform Planning events and processes including Innovation & Planning events, assist the teams in delivering value, and maintain the Scrum process and overall health of a group of product teams. The Platform Scrum Master ensures that the group of teams is fully functional and productive by supporting work intake, continuous improvement and innovation, facilitating group-level discussions, managing risks, and removing any organizational obstacles that may be impeding progress. Proactively anticipates problems, opportunities for improvement, and facilitates quarterly planning and scrum of scrums, enabling teams to focus on delivering their sprint commitments. Supports all Scrum Masters in the product group and is responsible for release orchestration. Acts as an Agile Coach across teams, responsible for the group's understanding and continuous improvement in agile maturity. Duties and Responsibilities Facilitation of synchronized planning cadence: Facilitate quarterly planning and bi-weekly (every 2 week) cadence of meetings that prepare for quarterly planning, the Platform Sync (i.e., a technique for coordinating work across multiple agile teams to ensure the integration of each team's outcome in overall solution), collaborative innovation and planning events, and other coordination events to ensure smooth delivery and coordination of work across teams. Facilitates group-level discussions, decision making, and conflict resolutions to create the safe working environment for team members. Proactively communicates with stakeholders both internal and external to group, promotes transparency and information sharing between teams in platform, between platforms, and with executive leadership as needed. Challenges the platform to maintain a sustainable pace. 30% Continuous Improvement: Leads coaching and education of all teams within platform group (especially the Scrum Masters) on utilizing agile principles and scrum/kanban practices/values according to company expectations. Facilitates universal application of best practices and processes needed to scale agile methodologies for organizational success. Helps platform group to identify any areas of improvement and facilitates interactive and action-oriented discussions to drive innovation and continuous improvements. Assesses agile maturity (i.e., ability to leverage agile ways of working to increase value delivered to the organization) of group on a regular cadence and coaches teams to higher levels of maturity. Leverages different scaling practices and methodologies to improve the maturity across the group and verticals. 20% Work Intake: Monitors the quality of the Platform Backlog (i.e., product group and team-level lists of prioritized work that are well defined and ready to be delivered within a two-week sprint) and Roadmaps, providing coaching and education where appropriate to improve quality. Addresses complex, enterprise-wide impediments, providing direction to teams, and collaborating across the organization to ensure that delivery impediments are addressed and resolved appropriately. 15% Scrum Master Leader: Oversees all scrum masters within group. Provides leadership, direction, motivation, and strategic oversight. Responsible for performance management, training, and development. Supervises team leads as applicable. Manages vendor contracts and holds vendor management responsibility for the oversight of vendors and contractors. Supports Scrum Masters in the platform group to remove team-level delivery impediments upon escalation. Orchestrates complex releases, ensuring coordination across teams and groups. Builds trusting and safe environment for teams where problems can be escalated and discussed. Facilitates problem-solving between teams and up to the leadership level 15% Communication: The Platform Scrum Master regularly communicates the platforms performance to quarterly planning commitments, monitors and escalates risks and impediments, and ensures that ADO is providing transparency and visibility to platform progress against commitments aligned to the platform capacity. 10% Performs other duties as assigned Supports budgeting, planning, and forecasting (as required) 10% Education Education Level Major/Description Required/ Preferred Bachelor's Degree In computer science, computer information systems engineering, business, or related discipline Required Experience Years of Experience Details Required/ Preferred 8 years - Related work experience in Project or Product Delivery, Product Management, Software Project Delivery, IT and/or Business Operations or equivalent experience. Required 3 years - Related experience as a lead or supervisor. Required 6 years - Experience as a Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach for a delivery team that was actively applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. Preferred 2 years - Experience with Agile scaling frameworks such as Agile Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LESS. Preferred Description Required: Cross-functional Collaboration - Ability to participate in co-operative working relationships including knowledge sharing and partnership in achieving solutions within and across business or operational functions. Facilitation - Ability to lead impactful meetings, optimize group processes, foster collaboration, and assist a group or team in understanding and achieving their objectives. Advanced Agile Methodologies - Knowledge of concepts, including Agile Scrum and/or Kanban, and application of Agile methodology (e.g., Lean, SAFe, LeSS) for project management to be able to design, implement and manage projects. Preferred: DevSecOps Methodologies - Strong understanding of processes and concepts to drive the integration of development, operations, and security into enterprise software development to produce better outcomes. Advanced Work Management Tools - Knowledge and use of work management tracking applications, such as Azure DevOps Boards, Jira, Confluence. Advanced Licenses and Certifications Agile Scrum, Product Owner or Scrum Master certifications such as Certified Scrum Master. Preferred Other Qualifications May require work outside of normal business hours and/or 24/7 response availability for system and application maintenance, enhancements, production releases and/or operational emergencies.
