Job Description: What you'll be doing: We are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Server Application Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our SQL Server databases supporting critical business applications. The DBA will work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that align with the organization's objectives. Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances. Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships. Ensure data integrity, security, and availability. Perform regular database monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning. Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies. Identify and resolve performance issues, query optimization, and bottlenecks. Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency. Implement and maintain database security best practices. Ensure databases comply with relevant regulations and data protection laws. Monitor and audit database activities to detect security violations. Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures. Test backup and recovery processes regularly to ensure data integrity. Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries and database interactions. Work closely with system administrators to ensure smooth integration between applications and databases. Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes. What do we seek in you Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years experience as a SQL Server Application Database Administrator, managing large-scale, production databases. Strong knowledge of SQL Server database administration, performance tuning, and optimization. Experience with database security, backup, and recovery procedures. Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and replication solutions. Solid understanding of database design and data modeling concepts. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) would be a plus.
