Position Name VMware Cloud Engineer NOC Support Services Type of hiring Subcon/Fulltime Location Dallas/Plano, TX (Onsite day 1) NOC shift hours Shift can be Either Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat. 10-hour/ day vs. 8 for 4 days instead of 5. Shift timing 6am to 4pm / 12pm to 10pm Roaster will be assigned on monthly basis. Job Description: Job Duties and Responsibilities A Systems Engineer will be directly working in environments supporting the NOC team on a VMWare cloud-native environment. Key Responsibilities: Support a 24x7 Operations Center. Creation and entry of Support Requests, through closure and remediation. Participate in JIRA workflow creation with the client NOC team to enhance efficiencies. Provide on-site and remote coverage, subject to state and federal public health and travel restrictions. Work collaboratively with clients Operations teams, and assist with operational tasks including fault, performance, configuration, capacity management, planning, testing and software maintenance, including, but not limited to, fixing or troubleshooting such issues through resolution. Assist clients cloud-native network function (CNF) and virtual network function (VNF) vendors in resolving interoperability issues concerning VMware related software. Perform initial triage and root cause analysis of NOC-related VMware incidents. Perform monitoring of VMware platforms and key interfaces for overall health and provide both proactive and reactive responses based on such monitoring. Engage with NOC POD Support and Resolution resources, as required, post initial triage efforts through resolution. Drive the resolution for VMware-related software incidents within the client NOC. Perform health checks on VMware platforms including configuration management and capacity planning. Assist with upgrades and testing when availability exists. Assist client with network function onboarding and testing activities when availability exists. Evaluate and recommend automation opportunities, where applicable, and when time permits. Skills, Experience, and Requirements A successful VMware Engineer will have the following at a minimum: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree; five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Professional experience in VMware services and tools Direct experience with administering multiple VMware products across multiple remote locations and data centers Preferred additional experience: Understands concepts of Infrastructure-As-Code, automated deployments, and cluster management within a CI/CD Pipeline Has provided lower-tier support for Bare-metal and virtual machines Cloud-native environments Network equipment Please, let me know your availability this week for a phone interview and I will confirm the interview and call you to discuss in great detail.
