Looking for a dev focused devops person Job Description: We are a team of 10 with skillsets ranging from tool administration to system administration. The teams responsibilities include development and operations (DEVOPS) related to commonly used Engineering Tools. Project Description: *** is undergoing a transformation where application teams are migrating their supported applications to a cloud native environment, which involves changing the way that these teams use continuous integration and deployment. The candidate will assist the Tools Platform teamwith applying CI/CD tooling available on the Tools Platform to application development teams. Position Summary/Job Description: The candidate will build application integration and deployment pipelines following a defined cloud-native paradigm and using available Tools Platform components. Tools Platform components may need to be modified or improved to meet application teams needs. Application teams may also wish to use other tools that are not yet supported by Tools Platform; these tools must be made available through Tools Platform using the cloud-native paradigm. Skills Overview: What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job Experience with writing CI/CD pipeline scripts for GitHub Experience with writing GitHub actions in Node Experience with application containerization using Dockerfiles Experience with OIDC token based authentication Experience with managing state using Terraform Experience writing applications in Go Experience with Artifactory and HashiCorp Vault Experience creating and consuming REST APIs Prescreening Questions: ( Need Answers in the RTR email ) 1. When you are developing a software solution, how do you decide when it is good enough" 2. How do you decide when to automate a task, and when might it be wrong to automate a task 3. How do you go about making changes to production environments while ensuring quality and minimal downtime 4. Every couple of days, a cloud management process becomes unresponsive preventing users from launching instances. The solution to date has been to ssh to the controller machine and manually restart the service each time this happens.
