Client is currently decommissioning Avaya and moving away from that and moving to Genesis. 

         

This person should have Genesis and Avaya experience.  Routers and switches experience etc

Network Support Engineers must have skills.

LAN/WAN experience

MPLS, VPN experience

iOS experience is nice to have.

Windows/Linux experience

Interfacing skills with vendors

Ability to decipher when something pops up and shows as non-critical, - you should have the ability and responsibility to still investigate it to make the determination if it is really deemed as non-critical or actually critical.

Job Description/Notes:

You'll be a first responder focused on keeping our network, servers, operating systems, and applications running smoothly. You'll play a central role in the health and stability of our infrastructure; this will include troubleshooting, documentation, communication, planning, implementation, and coordinating efforts to resolve issues with our partners and vendors.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the integrity and availability of the voice and data networks.

Respond to and resolve critical network, hardware, software, and application alerts.

Monitor circuit outages, degradation and hardware failures and utilize various tools to isolate impairments in LAN/WAN network environments.

Troubleshoot TCP/IP network connectivity across MPLS, VPN, and point-to-point WAN facilities.

Report and escalate outages to the appropriate vendors and initiate backup procedures during network outages.

Install and test communication equipment and perform communication fault isolation and diagnosis as required.

Support disaster recovery testing for regions/clients and test backup circuits weekly

They will also review projects completed by Network Engineering and maintain network management tools.

Provide Incident, Problem, and Change Management support, as well as escalation/notification to management and provide 1st level Network Security monitoring and incident tracking.

Communicate directly with technology teams and business users regarding technology issues, outages, and downtime during planned maintenance.

Coordinate and communicate with external vendors and partners for support.

Update and add documentation for support procedures and system information.

Actively seek and implement ways to improve the team's processes, technical knowledge and relationships with other technology and business partners

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

BS/BA or equivalent IT experience

Ability to troubleshoot network communication, current server technology, and hardware.

Working knowledge of routers, switches, firewall, and CTI components

Demonstrated understanding of Voice/Telephony networks

Experience using other synthetic and real-time monitoring tools (agent-based and agentless)

Experience with ITIL framework including but not limited to certification.

Ability to perform and communicate well in high-pressure situations.

Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Cisco CCNA Certification preferred.

OS experience

Knowledge and experience administrating and troubleshooting Windows & Linux servers
