Duration: 6 months MOI: Skype Work Authorization: USC and GC Requirement We are currently seeking an experienced Optimization Specialist/DataScientist preferably in Supply Chain/Logistics industry to assist our client and their Big Data and Advanced Analytics department onsite in downtown Houston, TX. Must haves to be considered, include: Optimization experience to real-world problems, such as: Framing and solving optimization problems using applied statistics / math and optimization techniques Using Linear, Non-Linear, Integer or Heuristic methods Nice to haves: Python Git SQL Statistics Time Series Data AWS Responsibilities include: Work independently on optimization projects for multiple business functions in supply chain, logistics, and operations Identify and frame the optimization opportunity from understanding the business problem / opportunity Gather, cleanse, and transform internal and external data Analyze data and deliver insights via visualizations and dashboards Create, productionize, and maintain models / solutions that address business problems Present, explain and defend results from analysis and modeling, and approach taken Participate in strategic planning discussions around optimizations, data science and big data analytics The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: 5+ years of practical experience: Framing and solving optimization problems in supply chain, logistics, or operations using applied statistics / math and optimization techniques Using Linear, Non-Linear, Integer, Dynamic or Heuristic methods Experience using Google Operations Research (OR) tools, Scipy. Optimize, CPLEX, Gurobi, GAMS, LINGO, Pyomo, MATLAB, Arena, Vensim on real word problems Python programming Analysis and modeling of multivariate time series data (is as plus) AWS experience (is as plus) Education: BS in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Industrial Engineering.
