Job title: Sr Technology Project Manager

Location: Burbank, CA (Preferred) or Orlando, Florida (2nd choice) local only--onsite 4-5 days a week

Interview: Phone/ Skype

Visa: : USC, Green Card, GC-EAD

Job Description:

PLEASE PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE REQUIRED SKILLS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL, and the attached Skills Matrix, which is pretty much the job description!

Overall project: Enhancing multiple HR Business Platform Solutions

This is their critical area thats in their Core Systems & Platforms Application Delivery Spack

They are accountable for New Development as well as Existing Enhancements to any kind of HR Business Intelligence Platform or Solutions

There are multiple projects coming up in that space, and they are looking to augment that team with a contractor who has proven experience implementing projects in that technical domain in early January.

It is a Sr Technology Project Manager level, so they will be managing 1 or more independent projects with this initiative.

This is for the Data Solutions Platform Technology Project.

The TPM is going to directly embedded in working 99.9% of the time with a well versed Agile Delivery Team, so they have to be well versed in Agile.  Theyre going to be working across technical solutions across multiple Disney segments, so well beyond Corporate Technology.

Supporting multiple projects and working with different types of technology teams, so they have to be a TRUE Technical Project Manager with technical experience in this space.

There is a lot of scrutiny into their project timelines and critical path interdependencies Agile Delivery. How do we partner and assimilate with our project teams in an Agile manner and true hands technical keyboard project financial experience.

Its not just good enough to manage resources.  Whoever this candidate is has to have proven experience number crunching.  Taking in initial budgets, whether its hardware or software. Getting that initial budget. Then translating that and working with the various teams from a financial forecast, and reconciling that on a monthly/quarterly overly health and life of a project.

Required:

10 years true /  consistent technology PM experience in a large scale Matrix Organization (Waterfall/Agile Doesnt matter) that has done some type of implementation, not just OnPrem, but a Cloud Solution (whether its Azure, AWS or GCP)
5 years Implementing projects inside a technical space Proven experience leading an implementation in the application delivery space within a Business Intelligence Technology project (doing enhancements with PowerBI or Informatica PowerCenter ETL Technology Projects (Rollout Informatica Solution or making enhancements with PowerBI). It has to be one or the other.
8 years minimum Agile Delivery experience. Its not enough to have a Certified Scrum Master Certification.  Have to have been embedded with Agile Delivery Teams, whether they were a Scrum Master, whether they were in different roles, whether they were a PM coordinating and leveraging SAFe, they have to have had tactical  Agile Delivery experience, and had experience doing multiple type of releases from an Agile Ceremony perspective.
Minimum $5 million budget experience There will be multiple different types of technology platforms this PM will be helping to support
Vendor Management experience.  Will be working with multiple implementation vendors.  Must be familiar with vendor contracts and able to hold vendors accountable.
Financial Management. Forecast accuracy is the #1 phrase you hear at Disney in the last 1.5 years.  There is so much scrutiny around the project financials. The PM has to be comfortable with the actual number crunching itself. It is not good enough to just do forecasting for resources.   The PM must have prior experience managing the project costs for their project.
Communication Skills are paramount to be able to successfully adapt and build relationships within Disney.
Very strong Oral/Written Communication skills. PowerPoint.  This person will be interacting a lot with technology executives at Disney.  They will need to work independently without additional guidance.  So they need to have enough  experience managing technology projects in a Matrix organization, where they know the audience and can adapt.

Nice to Haves:
If the candidate meets the other qualifications above, if they have SAP S/4 Hana, Snowflake or EDP (any type of ETL translation experience), they will jump to the top of the list.
Certifications are a strong preference, but not a requirement.

Interviews: (3)

Last week of December and the first week of January  (between Christmas and New Years, and potentially the week after New Years). They are asking for flexibility.

The interview process will be first with a PMO Leader (i.e. Linda White) or Sophie or Lori

Followed by a Technical Project Management Interview

The 3rd interview will be with the delivery team itself

                         Thanks,

Bhuwan Tiwari
