Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer - Mainframe Location: Cincinnati, OH or Chicago, IL ( Hybrid) Duration: 6+ Months Visa Type: USC/GC They must be in Cincinnati or Chicago to work Hybrid Must have Info Lease Experience Job Description:- Evaluate, design, and implement technology solutions to build and progress technology strategies within a line of business. In most situations, the incumbent will be the application owner responsible for third-party, purchased software aligned with a LOB. Will have the responsibility to work with vendors to understand upcoming changes, how the software fits into the technology roadmap, and design plans to ensure business continuity and effectiveness. Will develop an understanding of the client's systems, how they are configured, and how we need to reconfigure to meet the changes. If aligned to an agile squad, may work closely with the product owner to ensure user stories are defined appropriately to develop effective technology solutions. In this role, the incumbent may still be taking coaching and guidance from more senior platform engineers or others with more profound company and systems knowledge. RESPONSIBILITIES: Liaison with software vendor(s) for systems utilized by a particular line of business Stay abreast of upcoming changes and enhancements in the vendor's software and how those changes will impact the business. Assists with the line of business (or in support of a more senior Platform Engineer) to help design solutions to incorporate software changes and effectively works with business partners to ensure effective implementation Seek to fully understand the business technology roadmap and make recommendations on continued utilization or elimination of current third-party software solutions. If working on an agile team, work closely with the product owner to ensure user stories have enough specificity and clarity for the software developers to meet customer needs effectively. Implement and maintain new features and capabilities while continuously improving the quality of our technical products and services. Follow industry and organizational best practices and standards, and participate in company communities of practice to continuously refine and communicate them. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Help achieve operational excellence by automating processes and creating maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions. Keep up with technology trends and innovations in your field(s) of practice. Provide operational support and troubleshooting for your team's products and services. Help to provide coaching, mentoring, and training for new or less experienced team members. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Four+ years of engineering or other IT work experience relevant to the position. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment. Solid understanding and significant experience with modern software development practices, tools, and/or hardware technologies. Understanding of IT security best practices. Expertise in technical and/or functional domains relevant to the position. Technical skills per the specific position's requirements. Position Specific Requirements: 4+ years' experience in IBM Mainframes technologies: TSO, Cobol, SAS, JCL, VSAM, IBM Mainframes Utilities Linux/UNIX (Including CHRON) Scripting MS SQL Studio Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must Results-driven, attention to detail, ability to work independently Knowledge of file transfer Ability to do Analysis and Design Provide operational support and troubleshooting for the InfoLease 10 application and its corresponding integrations 24x7 On-call Support Assists with Audits and Annual Disaster Recovery Exercises Assist with InfoLease tasks, including Data Analysis, Data Mapping, Coding, Testing, Specification creation, Connectivity, File Exchange/Transfers, Security, and Environment Management PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience working with the Solifi InfoLease application Work experience on System integration projects is a plus Knowledge of test automation tools and processes is a plus Agility methodology Exposure to DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible , Keywords: information technology green card microsoft Illinois Ohio |
