The INTS has an overall knowledge of IT infrastructure and architecture that serves as a strong base for technical expertise in a specific product or program. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Collaborate with IT, County management and leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs with financially sound solutions. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. Work with inter-agency organizations, state and local agencies, and associated organizations to design connectivity and security solutions. Assist Network Architect in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery. Manage the design, implementation, documentation and support of the printer environment, resources needed, and management of software application associated with system Manage the design, implementation, documentation and support of the camera environment, resources needed, and software application associated with system Manage the design, implementation, documentation and support of the audio/visual environment, resources needed, and management of software application associated with system Support and assist with architecture behind LANs, WANs, wireless networks, UPSs, and other related network hardware solutions Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to maintain compliant with security standards in the networking industry Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Interact and negotiate with vendors, contractors, and partner agencies to secure network products and services. Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes. Research and review new technologies and advancements in network applications and resources Stay current on security trends that are applicable to securing the environment; including but not limited to patches and vulnerability assessments Define and document best practice procedures for implementation and maintenance of the environment Monitor network performance, troubleshoot problem areas and respond in a timely manner as needed. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting and video and printer hardware and software solutions. Monitor and ensure network connectivity for systems reliant on network access Practice network asset management, which includes the maintenance of network component inventory, lifecycle of product inventory, contract renewals and technical specifications documentation. Monitor and test network performance and provide network audit statistics and reports. Participate in managing all network security solutions and provide recommendation for necessary improvement Perform network and security audits Participate in training and seminars as it relates to necessary KSAs MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience University degree in computer science or related fields and/or 5 - 7 years equivalent work experience. Licenses or Certifications Certifications in Cisco, VMware, or other relevant are beneficial, but not required. Required / Desired Skills Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation. Required Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices. Required Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of core technologies, including Cisco, Microsoft, FortiNET, and Meraki. Required Knowledge of Cisco VOIP technologies. Required Knowledge of video software, retention requirements and back up support solutions Required Knowledge of audio/visual configurations and technologies Required Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards. Required Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience. Required Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits. Required Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. Required Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
