Position : Principal IT Technologist IIOT & OT Networking Location : Remote- Duration : Long Term contract JOB DESCRIPTION: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF: Liaise with core and extended global teams. Mentoring local IT/OT resources during the collaboration, consultation, and design blueprinting of OT machine integration phases Champion a quality and risk management mindset Measure progress and ensure delivery indicators are achieved. Support change control process initiate and manage project specific change activities. Participate in the development and continuously improving standards and documentation. Source system and repository maintenance IPAM, CMDB, QMS etc. Participate in detailed planning activities providing expert direction and solutions as appropriate. KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Strong working knowledge of IT Projects related to Industrial IoT connectivity and security Preferred experience with Cloud & hybrid cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) Campus network WAN / LAN / WLAN IT/OT converged networks Industrial machinery specifications and best practice Compute & storage VMware, VSAN, HCI Server operating systems Checkpoint firewalls Cisco / Juniper enterprise network hardware Cisco / Rockwell industrial network hardware Macro/Micro segmentation for risk containment IT/OT Edge compute device technologies International best practices and standards ISA95, ISA88, Purdue, CPwE etc. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills, takes initiative to propose solutions/options Familiarity with Digitalisation/Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams. High capacity for work, multitasker capable of managing simultaneous work paths Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education and/or industry accreditation combined with experience. Experience working in a regulated environment with strict adherence to quality system procedures. Demonstrated ability across multiple projects of delivering expected results within time and cost projections. Develops, documents, and configures systems specifications that conform to defined architecture standards, address business requirements, and processes. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting hardware and software compliance and security standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements and characteristics of overall system. Establishes and documents system design, parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems functionality, performance and compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of configurations, such as existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. Actively identifies system functionality or performance deficiencies, executes changes to existing systems, and tests functionality of the system to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, data integrity, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage. May document testing and maintenance of system updates, modifications, and configurations. May act as a liaison with key technology vendor technologists or other business functions. Function Specific: Strategically design technology solutions that meets the needs and goals of the company and its customers/users. Leverages platform process expertise to assess if existing standard platform functionality will solve a business problem or customization solution would be required. Gather and prioritize integration requirements. Test the quality of a product and its ability to perform a task or solve a problems. Perform basic maintenance and performance optimization procedures in each of the primary operating systems. Technology: Using computational thinking to define technological solutions to real life problems. Design technology that allows for the optimal user experience and broad accessibility. Ability to document detailed technical system specifications based on business system requirements.
