Client: Deloitte, Texas Department of Criminal Justice Location: Remote Duration: 3-4+ years Visa: No H1B/H1B transfer Role: Cobol Developers must have MFED/MFES (microfocus enterprise developer/studio) Required Skills: Minimum six years COBOL experience, to include experience with CICS. Minimum six years JCL, including PROCs and external sorts Minimum 4 years DB2 & VSAM, prefer SQL Server experience as well. Experience with Microfocus Enterprise Developer and Microfocus Enterprise Server Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE or Eclipse IDE, Visual Studio Job Description Looking for Cobol developers to help them with their mainframe modernization efforts. About 70% of their applications are written in Cobol and they applications are supporting inmate systems and business and finance in contracts and procurement. They are currently in the middle of UAT for a large data migration program to microfocus enterprise server early Dec. They are currently running under CICS. The other 30% of the applications are distributed systems, web applications in Java and JSP. There are also several dynamics 365 solutions, several in production now. The largest projects are the mainframe migration and refactoring and redeveloping M365 systems. The Cobol team has 18 total developers 18 total, half FTE, half contractors. The developers will be working on the migration project initially and once they are done, they will need support for that on Microfocus enterprise server. They are looking for enterprise developers with a strong mainframe background - z/OS Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL and ISPF and TSO. Additional Skills & Qualifications The candidates will need to pass an aptitude test as part of the interview process. The test is around problem solving, nothing very technical.
