Looking for Linux Admin in Remote Job Title: Linux Admin Location: Princeton, NJ - Remote Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based server environments, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Collaborate with the architecture team to develop and implement Linux infrastructure solutions based on business requirements. Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Architect and optimize hybrid cloud solutions integrating Wintel and Linux environments. Provide expertise in integrating and managing Windows Server and Linux environments within a cloud infrastructure. Perform system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and patch management of Linux servers. Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure optimal resource utilization. Implement and enforce security best practices across the Linux environment. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Administer and support virtualization technologies such as KVM, VMware, or others. Optimize virtual infrastructure for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency. Develop and implement automation scripts (Bash, Python, etc.) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency. Utilize configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet for system automation. Implement and support containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Orchestrate and manage containerized applications in production environments. Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for Linux systems. Regularly test and update disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. Provide expert-level support for escalated Linux-related issues. Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical problems. Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Ensure that documentation is kept up to date with changes in the environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems with other technologies. Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions and documentation. Qualifications we seek in you! Minimum Qualifications / Skills Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Linux SME or similar role. In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS), server Preferred Qualifications/ Skills Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
